The present invention relates to dodecandien-1-ol, dodecen-1-ol or mixtures thereof and a method of preparing same, to the use of dodecandien-1-ol, dodecen-1-ol or mixtures thereof as aroma chemical; to the use of dodecandien-1-ol, dodecen-1-ol or mixtures thereof for preparing an aroma chemical composition or for modifying the aroma character of an aroma chemical composition; to an aroma chemical composition containing dodecandien-1-ol, dodecen-1-ol or mixtures thereof; and to a method of preparing an aromatized composition or for modifying the aroma character of an aromatized composition.

The present invention relates to the use of an ether or an ester of a tertiary alkanol or of mixtures of two or more ethers or esters of tertiary alkanols or of a stereoisomer thereof or of a mixture of two or more stereoisomers thereof as aromachemicals; to the use thereof for modifying the scent character of a fragranced composition; to an aroma chemical composition containing an ether or an ester of tertiary alkanol or of mixtures of two or more ethers or esters of tertiary alkanols or of a stereoisomer thereof or of a mixture of two or more stereoisomers thereof; and to a method of preparing a fragranced composition or for modifying the scent character of a fragranced composition. The invention further relates to specific ethers or esters of tertiary alkanols.

The present invention relates to aroma chemical compositions containing 3,5-diethyl-2-propyl-tetrahydropyran, a 3,5-diethyl-2-propyl-dihydropyran or a 3,5-diethyl-2-propyl-pyran, a mixture of such compounds, a stereoisomer of one of these compounds, or a mixture of stereoisomers of one or more of these compounds.
