A binocular has a folding bridge for adapting the distance between the eyepieces to the interpupillary distance of the eyes of the user. A synchronous focusing of the two telescopes is brought about via a differential gear assembly which drives respective spindle drives for corresponding ones of the two telescopes. The conversion of the rotational movement into an axial linear displacement of the focusing element of the optics occurs only at the end of the corresponding spindle drive.

An adjustment tower for telescopic sights includes a first adjustment device and a second adjustment device, which are capable of rotating independently of one another relative to a base. The first adjustment device can be rotated in an adjustment position and has a secured position in which it is secured against rotation. The first adjustment device is also axially movable relative to the base to a limited extent such that in the adjustment position, the adjustment device projects further out of the second adjustment device than in the secured position. The tower further includes a stored-energy device that exerts an axial force on the first adjustment device from the secured position in the direction of the adjustment position.

Adjustment device for optical systems

A method and apparatus for producing histological sections by means of a microtome are suggested. A histological section of predefined thickness is produced with a microtome from a block comprising a tissue sample. A carrier material is applied with an application apparatus onto the block prior to before production of the histological section. To ensure that the histological sections do not roll up, and to enable improved downline processing of the histological sections as compared with a carrier material embodied in the form of an endless strip and that the carrier material is cut out prior to application to a size and/or a shape that corresponds substantially to the cross-sectional area of the block; and that the cut-out carrier material is then applied onto the block. The suggested apparatus is designed to apply the carrier material onto a histological section to be prepared by a microtome.

Method and apparatus for producing histological sections with a microtome

An apparatus and a method for isolating histological sections produced with a microtome and a microtome are suggested. A previously and currently produced histological section are connected to form a section strip. In order to simplify isolating the previously and currently produced histological sections from each other a nozzle device is provided by means of which the histological sections when positioned on a blade holder are subjected to an air stream of adjusted direction and intensity so that the previously produced histological section of the section strip is separated from the currently produced histological section that is positioned on the blade holder and is removed from the blade holder.

Apparatus and method for isolating histological sections produced with a microtome

A method of cutting at least one thin section from a sample block that is arranged in a cassette and tagging at least one specimen slide such that it can be allocated to the specific sample block from which the thin section has been cut. The method includes removing a cassette from a cassette magazine; reading the machine-readable coded information of the cassette identifier; generating by at least one tagging unit a specimen slide identifier that interrelates to the cassette identifier read by the reading unit; inserting the cassette into a microtome; transferring data from the microtome to a tagging unit via a data transfer path while the cassette is inserted into the microtome; enabling tagging of the specimen slide; tagging the specimen slide by the tagging unit; and cutting the thin section and transferring it onto the specimen slide that was tagged by the tagging unit.

Method of cutting at least one thin section and tagging at least one specimen slide

An apparatus and method for tagging a specimen slide are described. The apparatus comprises a receiving region for receiving at least one cassette magazine, a reading unit for reading the machine-readable coded information of a cassette identifier of a cassette, and a tagging unit for generating a machine-readable coded information for tagging the specimen slide with a specimen slide identifier that depends on the cassette identifier. Data are transferred from the microtome to the apparatus via the data transfer path as soon as the cassette is inserted into the microtome, and only then can the machine-readable coded information for tagging the specimen slide be applied onto the specimen slide by the tagging unit.

Apparatus and method for identifying at least one specimen slide

A setting assembly to adjust components linked to it, in particular to adjust the reticle of a sighting telescope, comprising an adjustment cap system which is rotationally supported on a coupling and which drives said setting assembly, said coupling being designed to transmit adjustment cap system displacements to components that can be connected to the coupling in order to transmit their setting(s) and a first locking element mounted on the coupling being able to engage a second locking element in a way that the position of the adjustment cap system can be fixed in place relative to the coupling. The first locking element is an at least segment-wise externally toothed collar and the second locking element is an at least segment-wise internally toothed locking ring. A resiliently supported detent at the coupling may engage by detent recesses an associated detent ring at the adjustment cap system.

A magazine having compartments for receiving cassettes has an outer housing having an open top and an open front side. An inner housing within the outer housing encloses an interior space and defines a plurality of compartments. The inner housing has opposing sidewalls, and spring elements form the compartments. A generally U-shaped feed element is mounted on the inner housing movably reciprocally in the longitudinal direction over a depth of the compartment so that the feed element moves a cassette from one compartment to an adjacent compartment.

A device for applying a histological section to a slide is described. The histological section is generated by a cutting action performed by a blade of a microtome. The device comprises a positioning device having a component that is rotatably mounted to a bearing and has a receptacle for receiving and holding the slide, wherein the positioning device is designed such that the slide received in the receptacle can be rotated about an axis of rotation of the rotatably mounted component.
