A wheel () for a vehicle and a related method for manufacturing the wheel includes a rim () and a wheel center (). The wheel center includes several spokes () extending from a hub (), with a center opening (), radially outwards to the rim (). The hub () is made from a fiber-reinforced plastic material and is covered on the outboard side from a three-dimensionally shaped support cover () made from metallic material.

A wheel includes a rim and a wheel center interconnected to the rim. The wheel center includes at least one spoke extending from a wheel hub to the rim in a radial direction. The rim includes per the at least one spoke a first contact area and the at least one spoke includes at its outer end a second contact area which in a mounted position is aligned to the first contact area. The at least one spoke includes at least one hollow space extending in the radial direction of the spoke.

A wheel () includes a rim () and a wheel center () made from a fiber reinforced composite material. The wheel center () includes a tubular middle section () having a center opening () extending in the direction of a wheel axis () and having a first and a second end (). A hub () includes a first flange ring () and a second flange ring (). At least one of the flange rings () and the tubular middle section () are interconnected to each other by a form fit interconnection ().

Wheel made out of fiber reinforced material and procedure to make such wheel

Wheel comprising a rim and a wheel center wherein the wheel center comprises several spokes extending in a longitudinal direction from a wheel hub to the rim. At least one spoke comprises an outer wall surrounding a cavity extending in the longitudinal direction of the at least one spoke. The cavity is delimited from the outer wall by an inner surface. The at least one spoke further comprises a reinforcing member extending along the inner surface.

Reinforced wheel for a vehicle

A wheel includes a rim that is at least partially made from a fiber reinforced plastic. The rim has an inner side extending to the hub region of the wheel and an outer side extending centrifugally away from the hub region of the wheel whereby the outer side includes a well which is interconnected with an outer shoulder by a transition area. A wheel center is interconnected with the inner side of the rim by at least one fastener wherein the at least one fastener penetrates the rim via at least one opening that extends from the inner side of the rim to the outer side of the rim. An annular cover is arranged at the outer side of the rim in a circumferential direction around the wheel and thereby covers the at least one fastener and/or the at least one opening.

The invention is directed to a method for producing a rim () comprising at least one three-dimensionally shaped layer of reinforcing fibers (). In a first step a forming tool () is provided which comprises a three-dimensionally shaped outer contour. In a subsequent step a band of reinforcing fibers () is wound onto the forming tool () such that the reinforcing fibers follow the outer contour of the forming tool () and are arranged in at least one of reinforcing fibers. A draping device () is provided by which the band of reinforcing fibers () is preformed before the band of reinforcing fibers () is wound onto the forming tool ().

Method to produce a fiber reinforced annular body

A wheel includes a rim and a wheel center with several spokes with at least one butt strap. The at least one butt strap protrudes from a radially outer end of the spokes. The rim includes at least one opening arranged corresponding to the at least one butt strap. The at least one butt strap extends across the related opening in the rim and is attached to the outside of the rim.

The invention is directed to a wheel comprising a rim () and a wheel center () interconnected to the rim (). The rim () comprises at least one first contact area () and the wheel center () comprises at least one second contact area () which in a mounted state are aligned with respect to each other. According to the invention an intermediate layer () is arranged between the at least one first contact area () and the at least one second contact area () preventing at least partially direct contact between the at least one first contact area () and the at least one second contact area ().

The invention is directed to wheel () comprising a rim () and a wheel center (). The wheel center () comprises and insert () which at least comprises a front pad () and a rear pad () which are a distance apart with respect to each other and which are at least partially embedded in a composite material ().

The invention is directed to a wheel () which comprises a rim () and a thereto connected spoke structure () made out of fiber reinforced plastic material. An insert () is embedded in the fiber reinforced material at the center of the spoke structure (). The insert () protrudes in at least one region above the surface of the fiber reinforced plastic material () forming at least one contact area ().
