A control unit and method for an autonomous and/or semi-autonomous ego vehicle are provided. The control unit is configured to determine a course of an ego lane, referred to as the behavioral ego lane, within which the ego vehicle is driving, based on driving trajectories of a plurality of vehicles within an environment of the ego vehicle. The control unit is configured to operate an automated longitudinal and/or lateral guidance function of the ego vehicle in dependence of the course of the behavioral ego lane.

Method and control unit for operating an automated longitudinal and/or lateral guidance function of a vehicle

A method detects a lane for a transverse guidance of a vehicle. The transverse guidance of the vehicle is based on a roadway model. The method has the steps of ascertaining one or more features which are suitable for influencing the detection of the lane; detecting a lane on the basis of a sensor system of the vehicle; and ascertaining the roadway model on the basis of the detected lane and the ascertained one or more features. The method optionally has the steps of additionally receiving navigation data and transversely guiding the vehicle on the basis of the ascertained roadway model.

A method determines one or more lanes of a road in an environment of a vehicle, by receiving a plurality of objects in the environment of the vehicle; receiving a plurality of trajectories of the plurality of objects in the environment of the vehicle; estimating a shape of a road based on the plurality of trajectories of the plurality of objects; and determining one or more lanes of the road using the estimated shape of the road and the plurality of objects and/or the plurality of trajectories of the plurality of objects.
