A honeycomb body for exhaust gas aftertreatment includes a plurality of interconnected metal foils stacked on one another. The honeycomb body has a central first flow channel running in the axial direction of the honeycomb body, as an inflow section, and has a plurality of second flow channels between in each case two mutually adjacent metal foils. The first flow channel is in fluid communication with the second flow channels. The second flow channels formed between two mutually adjacent metal foils run in a straight line and parallel to one another along a radial direction of the honeycomb body.

Honeycomb body and method for producing the honeycomb body

A heating disk for heating up a stream of exhaust gas and/or a component for exhaust gas aftertreatment has a honeycomb body, wound from a plurality of smooth and corrugated metal layers stacked on top of one another. The honeycomb body is received within a carrier shell and an electrical contact is fed through the carrier shell. The honeycomb body is connected to a current source via the electrical contact. The electrical contact has a contact strip within the carrier shell extending in the circumferential direction of the carrier shell. An insulating region is formed between the carrier shell and the contact strip. A plurality of stacks of layers are electrically insulated from one another. Each of the stacks of layers are formed from the plurality of smooth and corrugated metal layers, and which are arranged directly adjacent to one another and conductively connected to the contact strip.

Electrically heatable heating disk for exhaust gas aftertreatment

A honeycomb body for exhaust gas aftertreatment, having a multiplicity of stacked layers. Flow channels are formed between the layers, which extend along the axial extent of the honeycomb body and are flowed through in the axial direction. The honeycomb body has first structured layers formed by successive wave peaks and wave valleys. Protuberances in the direction of the wave peaks belonging to a respective layer are formed from adjacently arranged wave valleys of a first structured layer. The adjacently arranged protuberances of a first structured layer form a channel-like structure extending in the circumferential direction in the first structured layer into which a second layer is inserted to be is fixed in the axial direction with respect to the first structured layer.

A metallic film includes: a top side; a flat electrical conductor; and a base insulation layer configured to attach the flat electrical conductor to the top side, the base insulation layer having: a cover layer covering the conductor in an electrically insulating manner. The film has at least one edge region without the electrical conductor and without either the base insulation layer or the cover layer, and the combined total thickness (D) of the electrical conductor, the base insulation layer and the cover layer, is less than 80 &#x3bc;m.

A catalytic converter having a honeycomb structure for the aftertreatment of exhaust gases of an internal combustion engine and having an electrically heatable heating plate, wherein the heating plate is formed from a plurality of metal foils which are stacked on top of one another to form a layer stack and are finally wound to form a honeycomb structure having a plurality of flow ducts, wherein the heating plate has arranged therein an insulating means via which electrical insulation is formed between at least two mutually adjacently arranged wound metal foils.

Catalytic converter with electrically heatable heating plate

An electrical connection for an electrical component in an exhaust gas system. The exhaust gas system has a metal casing through which an electrical conductor is routed. The connection has the conductor, an electrical insulation surrounding the conductor, and a metal bushing surrounding the insulation and the conductor, all together extend along a center axis. The insulation extends along the center axis beyond the bushing by an insulation gap of at least 2 mm at least at a first end of the connection.

A honeycomb body includes: a first end face; a second end face, the honeycomb body being configured to permit gas flow through the honeycomb body from the first end face to the second end face in a flow direction; and a plurality of at least partially structured sheet metal layers, layered one on top of the other and entwined with each other to form gas-permeable channels. At least one of the plurality of sheet metal layers is reinforced or replaced by at least two elongate electrical heating elements arranged approximately parallel to one another with a spacing one behind the other in the flow direction and extending transversely to the flow direction.

Electrically heatable honeycomb body for exhaust gas treatment having a plurality of heating elements

A component of an exhaust gas system and a method for exhaust gas after-treatment having a housing with an inlet and an outlet for an exhaust gas, an annular heat exchanger through which the exhaust gas can flow from the inlet in an axial direction and along a first flow path. Downstream of the heat exchanger, an annular catalyst body is arranged inside the heat exchanger and through which the exhaust gas can flow in a radial direction, such that, downstream of the catalyst body, the exhaust gas flows through the heat exchanger in the radial direction and along a second flow path.
