A dry liquid, comprising at least one additive having a molar mass greater than 20 g/mol, a melting temperature less than 500&#xb0; C., and a boiling point, measured at 101325 Pa, greater than 100&#xb0; C. and at least one calcium carbonate as a carrier material, wherein the calcium carbonate is precipitated calcium carbonate. The dry liquid is suitable in particular for introducing at least one preferably fluid additive into a chemical composition.

A tobacco product wrapping, material comprising composite particles is described, the composite particles being obtainable by a method in which an aqueous suspension containing calcium carbonate particles is prepared, and a metal salt comprising an aluminum cation is added. The metal salt is able to form a basic metal component in the suspension; and has a solubility of greater than 9.0 mg/L in water, measured at the pH value of the prepared suspension and at a temperature of 20&#xb0; C. The invention further relates to a method for the production of the tobacco product wrapping material, the use of such tobacco product wrapping material for the production of tobacco products, and the tobacco products produced with the tobacco product wrapping material.

Microstructured composite particles obtainable by a process in which large particles are bonded to small particles. The composite particles are preferably used as an additive, especially as a polymer additive, as an additive or starting material for the production of components, for applications in medical technology and/or in microtechnology and/or for the production of foamed articles.

Stabilized, spherical, amorphous calcium carbonate particles having a mean particle diameter in the range from 0.05 &#x3bc;m to 2.0 &#x3bc;m and a water content of at most 5.0 wt % measured as residual moisture at 200&#xb0; C., wherein the calcium carbonate particles comprise at least one substance which has a molar mass greater than 100 g/mol and satisfies the formula R&#x2014;X, wherein the radical R represents a radical comprising at least one carbon atom, the radical X represents a group which comprises at least one oxygen atom and at least one carbon atom, sulphur atom, phosphorus atom and/or nitrogen atom and n preferably constitutes a whole number in the range from 1 to 20, the proportion of crystalline calcium carbonate is less than 30 wt %, and the specific surface area of the calcium carbonate particles is at most 20 m/g.

Spherical, amorphous calcium carbonate particles

The particles comprise a core of calcium carbonate and a coating covering at least part of the surface of the core, the coating being carried out in at least two distinct consecutive steps, each step using a different coating agent. The coating agent used in the first step is preferably a fatty acid and the coating agent used in the second step is preferably a diol or a triol. The particles can be used as a functional filler, i.e. in plastisols formulations.

Process for preparing precipitated calcium carbonates

Bimolecular coated calcium carbonate and a process for controlled surface treatment of calcium carbonate according to which an amount of coating determined from the mean particle diameter (dp) of the calcium carbonate is contacted with the calcium carbonate particles. The way in which the amount of coating agent is determined enables purposeful control of the properties of the coated calcium carbonate particles to adapt them for use as functional filling materials in different technical applications.
