The invention relates to an internal combustion engine with an air intake system and an exhaust system is embodied as an internal combustion engine, in particular a gasoline engine, that is charged by means of an exhaust gas turbocharger. At least one three-way catalytic converter is arranged in the exhaust system of the internal combustion engine. Furthermore, a low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation system is provided that connects the exhaust system downstream from a turbine of the exhaust gas turbocharger and upstream from the at least one three-way catalytic converter to the air intake system upstream from a compressor of the exhaust gas turbocharger. The invention further relates to a method for exhaust aftertreatment of such an internal combustion engine.

Internal combustion engine and method for exhaust aftertreatment thereof

The invention relates to a method for regenerating a particulate filter in the exhaust gas channel of a motor vehicle with a hybrid drive consisting of an electric motor and an internal combustion engine. In this context, the internal combustion engine is lugged by the electric motor in order to regenerate the particulate filter. The internal combustion engine transports oxygen-rich air into the exhaust gas channel, a process in which the soot retained in the particulate filter is oxidized by the oxygen and the particulate filter can thus be regenerated. In this process, during the regeneration of the particulate filter, the quantity of air is controlled by a throttle valve in the air supply means of the internal combustion engine in order to allow the particulate filter to be regenerated as quickly and efficiently as possible. The invention also relates to a motor vehicle with a hybrid drive comprising an internal combustion engine and an electric motor, whereby the hybrid drive has a control unit to carry out such a method for the regeneration of the particulate filter.

A method for detecting the icing of a particulate filter, especially of a gasoline particulate filter, includes determining the temperature of the exhaust gas flow flowing through the particulate filter, whereby icing of the particulate filter is detected on the basis of the determined temperature of the exhaust gas flow. The method is improved in that the temperature of the exhaust gas flow upstream from the particulate filter and the temperature of the exhaust gas flow downstream from the particulate filter are determined, whereby on the basis of the measured temperature difference, the heat input into the particulate filter and the quantity of water present in the particulate filter are determined, whereby the aggregates states of the water present in the particulate filter are calculated by drawing up a balance of the heat quantity.

Method for detecting the icing of a particulate filter, especially of a gasoline particulate filter

The invention relates to a method for exhaust gas aftertreatment in an internal combustion engine. For purposes of the exhaust gas aftertreatment in the internal combustion engine, an exhaust gas system is provided in which a first three-way catalytic converter is arranged, as seen in the direction in which the exhaust gas of the internal combustion engine flows through the exhaust gas system, while at least another three-way catalytic converter is arranged downstream from the first three-way catalytic converter. Here, at least one lambda probe is arranged in an exhaust gas channel of the exhaust gas system upstream from the appertaining three-way catalytic converters. In the proposed method, a component temperature of the three-way catalytic converters is determined and compared to a light-OFF temperature. In this process, the lambda control of the internal combustion engine is carried out by means of the lambda probe upstream from the last three-way catalytic converter that has reached its light-OFF temperature. Moreover, according to the invention, an exhaust gas aftertreatment system for carrying out such a method is being proposed.

A method for checking the plausibility of a pressure sensor that, during the measurement of a differential pressure, records measured values, whereby the measured values from the pressure sensor are compared to reference values for the differential pressure calculated on the basis of a model; whereby in order to determine the plausibility, at least one deviation of the measured values from the reference values and a difference between a first slope of the changing measured values and a second slope of the changing reference values over the curve of the measured values are taken into account.
