A wireless power transmitter capable of detecting a receiver and a method for the same is described. According to some implementations, the transmitter is configured to detect the presence of the receiver by detecting a change in capacitance in the transmitter by detecting the change in a current flowing through a capacitive circuit at the transmitter. According to some implementations, the capacitive circuit is formed by a first transmission coil corresponding to a first electrode and a second transmission coil corresponding to a second electrode. According to some implementations, the capacitive circuit is formed by a transmission coil as an electrode and a ground, or by the electrode and the receiver circuitry.

Method and device for detecting a device in a wireless power transmission system

The invention relates to a system for transmitting power inductively from a transmitter () to a receiver (), the receiver () comprising a signal generator for generating a signal, triggered by an event reflecting that the receiver intends to receive power from the transmitter, wherein said signal intends to activate said transmitter from standby mode to activated mode; and comprising a signal transmitting coil () for transmitting said signal to said transmitter; said transmitter () comprising a signal receiving coil (); a detector () for detecting said signal received by the receiving coil; and a unit () for activating the transmitter from standby mode to activated mode upon the detection of said signal.

Inductive power transfer

A method of detecting a receiver () by a transmitter and a transmitter for detecting a receiver are provided. The transmitter is intended to transmit power inductively to the receiver (). The transmitter comprising a first transmission coil as a first electrode () and a second electrode (). The first electrode () and the second electrode () form a capacitor (). The invention relates to an X-ray imaging device, particularly a Spectral-CT scanner, that comprises an X-ray source for generating X-radiation with an energy spectrum which varies continuously during an observation period. In a preferred embodiment, the radiation is attenuated in an object according to an energy-dependent attenuation coefficient &#x3bc;, the transmitted radiation is measured by sensor units of a detector, and the resulting measurement signal is sampled and A/D converted. This is preferably done by an oversampling A/D converter, for example a &#x3a3;&#x394;-ADC. The tube voltage that drives the X-ray source is sampled with high frequency. In an evaluation system, these sampled measurement values can be associated with corresponding effective energy spectra to determine the energy dependent attenuation coefficient &#x3bc;.

Primary () and secondary () windings are subjected to a significant heat stress during operation of a high voltage transformer. The present invention describes a high voltage transformer which is believed to have good temperature properties. This transformer may have a planar primary winding and a Litz secondary winding. The planar primary winding may abut against a planar face of the core () therefore allowing for a good heat exchange between these two elements. The Litz secondary winding and the planar primary winding may be cooled by means of a cooling medium.

A resonant DC/DC converter for supplying an output power comprises a switching device () for supplying a switched voltage (UWR) to a resonant circuit () having a transformer (T). The switched voltage (UWR) is derived from an intermediate circuit voltage (Uz) having a fixed pulse width and frequency so that the zero crossings of the resonant current (Ires) generated in the resonant current are defined. A power supply power supply () comprising a DC voltage supply, a control unit and a plurality of high voltage channels (-) is suggested.
