A process and an installation for producing a yarn in accordance with an airjet-spinning method. A carded fibre sliver is subjected to more than three-fold drawing without levelling at a carding machine and deposited in a can (C). At least nine fibre slivers are fed draftfree from cans (C) to a draw frame and subjected to at least 8.5-fold drawing to form a fibre sliver and deposited in a can (C). The fibre sliver in the cans (C) is then fed to a spinning station of an airjet-spinning machine.

Method and apparatus for processing fibers

In an apparatus on a carding machine having a cylinder and at least one doffer, in which the cylinder and the doffer each have an all-steel clothing having saw teeth, the clothing on the cylinder and the clothing on the doffer each have a point density per square inch (ppsi). For achieving increased production rate with the same quality or improved quality with the same production rate, the clothing on the doffer has a point density of at least 400 ppsi, and the ratio between the point density of the clothing of the cylinder and the point density of the clothing of the doffer influences the proportion of the fiber mass that is transferred from the cylinder to the doffer per revolution of the cylinder in the sense of a higher production rate or higher quality of the card.

Apparatus on a flat card or roller card having a cylinder and at least one doffer

In an apparatus at a spinning preparation machine, especially a flat card, roller card or the like, for the purpose of monitoring, a clothed, rapidly rotating roller lies opposite to at least one clothed and/or non-clothed component, and the spacing a between the components lying opposite to one another is changeable. To avoid contact between the components lying opposite to one another in a simple manner, in order to monitor the spacing, there is located opposite to the clothing of the roller, spaced therefrom, a sensor that is arranged to respond in the event of contact between clothing and sensor.

Apparatus at a spinning preparation machine for the purpose of monitoring

In a device for identifying undesirable particles in textile fibre material, especially on spinning preparation machines, in which the detection of the undesirable particles is effected by optoelectronic means, the fibre material can be detected by a recognition device and the measurement results can be supplied to an image-processing device. In order substantially to improve evaluation of the measurement of the undesirable particles, there is a combing-out element for at least one fibre sliver, with which a fibre tuft having open ends in the working direction and a fibre tuft having open ends opposite to the working direction can be produced. The measured values of undesirable particles at both fibre tufts can be supplied to a comparison device and the comparison values can be used for optimising setting parameters and/or structural elements of the spinning preparation machines.

Arrangement for recognizing undesirable particles in textile fibre material

In an apparatus at a spinning preparation machine, wherein a clothed roller is located opposite at least one clothed component, there is associated with the component, in contact therewith, a piezoelectric sensor which is connected to an electrical evaluation device in communication with a display device and/or switching device. In order, by simple means to make it possible to ascertain the carding intensity, the piezoelectric sensor is a structure-borne sound sensor and the electrical evaluation device is capable of determining the carding intensity from the structure-borne sound.

Apparatus at a spinning preparation machine, especially a flat card, roller card or the like, for ascertaining carding process variables

A draw frame for drafting a sliver includes a drafting unit having a plurality of roll assemblies spaced from one another in a direction of sliver advance. One of the roll assemblies is an output roll assembly situated at a downstream end of the drafting unit as viewed in the direction of sliver advance. A sliver guide is disposed downstream of the output roll assembly and a sliver trumpet is disposed downstream of the sliver guide. The sliver passes through the sliver guide and the sliver trumpet. An electronic camera is arranged to capture images of the sliver at a location which is downstream of the output roll assembly and upstream of the sliver trumpet. An electronic image evaluating unit is connected to the camera for receiving image signals therefrom.

In an apparatus at a spinning preparation machine, for example a cleaner, opener, carding machine or the like, for detecting waste which is separated out from fibre material, for example cotton, and consists of foreign matter and good fibres and which is collected in a collecting device, there is provided an optical measuring device having a brightness sensor, which measuring device examines the waste. In order to make it possible, by simple means, for the content of good fibres in the waste to be detected and to allow optimum adjustment of the composition of the waste, especially with a high content of trash and low content of good fibres, the waste material is moved past at least one sensor arrangement responding to good fibres, and the sensor arrangement comprises a light source, the light reflected by the moving good fibres being detected by the brightness sensor and being converted into electrical signals, from which the good fibre content can be determined.

Apparatus at a spinning preparation machine for detecting waste separated out from fibre material

In an apparatus on a carding machine for textile fibres, for example, cotton, synthetic fibres and the like, comprising revolving card flat bars equipped with clothing, in which a space is present between the tips of the card flat clothings and the tips of the cylinder clothing and the card flat clothings form an adjustable angle with the cylinder clothing, the ends of the card-flat bars each slide with one part on a first curved slideway and with another part on a second curved slideway and the sliding-contact surfaces of the slideways&#x2014;viewed circumferentially&#x2014;are different distances from one another. To produce an apparatus that is structurally simple and easy to assemble, enables the carding intensity of the card flat bars to be individually adjusted and allows wear of the clothing of the card flat bars to be reduced, the sliding-contact surfaces are arranged so that the distances between the sliding-contact surfaces both increase and decrease.
