A self-powered recloser includes a circuit breaker, an electrical actuator, an electrical generator, a capacitor, and a lever. When in an on state, the circuit breaker harvests power from a medium voltage line required to actuate its movable contact to interrupt current flow in the medium voltage line, and when in an off state, it does not harvest power from the medium voltage line. The electrical actuator is configured to transition the circuit breaker from the off state to the on state. The capacitor when charged is configured to provide the electrical actuator with the electrical power required to transition the circuit breaker from the off state to the on state. The lever is configured to be moved by an operative. Movement of the lever is configured to charge the capacitor via the electrical generator.

Self-powered recloser

A switchgear or control gear includes: a first compartment; at least one removable module; a plurality of main switchgear or control gear components; and a plurality of auxiliary switchgear or control gear components. The plurality of main switchgear or control gear components are sub-divided into a first group of components that have a lifetime greater than a threshold level and a second group of components that have a lifetime less than or equal to the threshold level. The plurality of auxiliary switchgear or control gear components are sub-divided into a first group of components that have a lifetime greater than the threshold level and a second group of components that have a lifetime less than or equal to the threshold level.

Switchgear

A switchgear or control gear includes: at least one first compartment; a second compartment; a plurality of main switchgear or control gear components, the plurality of main switchgear or control gear components including a main busbar system, a three position linear or rotational movement disconnector, a circuit breaker, and a cable connection; and a plurality of auxiliary switchgear or control gear components, the plurality of auxiliary switchgear or control gear components including a disconnector drive and a circuit breaker drive. The plurality of main switchgear or control gear components are housed in the at least one first compartment. The plurality of auxiliary switchgear or control components are housed in the second compartment. The circuit breaker and three position or rotational movement disconnector are mounted vertically in the at least one first compartment.

Three phase switchgear or control gear

A switchgear or control gear includes at least one first compartment; a plurality of removable modules; a plurality of main switchgear or control gear components; and a plurality of auxiliary switchgear or control gear components. The plurality of main switchgear or control gear components includes at least one main busbar system, at least one three position linear or rotational movement disconnector, at least one circuit breaker, and at least one cable connection. The plurality of auxiliary switchgear or control gear components includes at least one disconnector drive and at least one circuit breaker drive. The plurality of removable modules are configured to be mounted horizontally within the at least one first compartment at a plurality of horizontal locations. Movement of a removable module from its horizontal location, the movement including a vertical movement, is configured to move the one or more auxiliary components housed in or associated with that module.

Switchgear or control gear

A three phase switchgear or control gear includes: at least one compartment; a plurality of components for a first phase; a plurality of components for a second phase; and a plurality of components for a third phase. The plurality of components for the first phase, the second phase, and the third phase each include a connection to a main busbar, a circuit breaker actuator, a single phase circuit breaker pole, and a cable connection. The circuit breaker actuator and the single phase circuit breaker pole for the first phase are oriented along a first axis. The circuit breaker actuator and the single phase circuit breaker pole for the second phase are oriented along a second axis. The circuit breaker actuator and the single phase circuit breaker pole for the third phase are oriented along a third axis. The first axis, the second axis, and the third axis are inclined.

A mechanical latching unit for a main drive unit includes a rolling mechanical switch within a housing, with a main roller, a counter roller, a carriage and a carriage trip/locking lever, with a first joint created between the main roller and the first end of the carriage, where by the load of the traction link of the main drive unit carried out to the main roller distributes a primary force component carried out to the counter roller and a secondary force component carried out in a direction to a second end of the carriage, where by the mechanical latching unit includes a force reduction mechanism having at least two force reduction stages, a carrier reset spring fastened to the housing which resets the carriage back to a neutral respectively blocking position, and a lever reset spring which resets the carriage trip/locking lever back to a neutral respectively blocking position.
