Embodiments are described herein for determining anatomical landmarks on a patient by virtue of anatomical landmarks being called up from a database with an anatomical model and being converted into individual body dimensions and an individual position of the patient. As a result, anatomical landmarks may be called up from a database, calculated individually for the patient and used as an item of reference location information. The positioning of the patient table is thus considerably accelerated, wherein the accuracy is also improved. Thus, the item of reference location information may be calculated individually for the same patient in a different position or a different patient with different body dimensions by virtue of this item of reference location information being recalculated by the conversion rule for the respective patient.

Automated positioning of a patient table relative to a medical installation

The automated positioning of an examination table relative to a medical-technical imaging installation is provided. A camera image is frozen by a first user interaction. Reference information is defined in the frozen camera image by a second user interaction. An examination table or medical-technical imaging installation with the aid of a positioning system is moved based on congruence between the reference location information with a recording region of the medical-technical imaging installation.

In a 3D image of a patient supported on a patient table, the 3D image incorporates depth information about the outline of the patient. The 3D image is received and image information based on the 3D image is displayed on a screen, embedded into a graphical user interface. A first recording area is selectable particularly precisely by the selection being based on the inputting of a first start position and also a first end position in the displayed image information via the graphical user interface. The first recording area is displayed as a graphically highlighted first zone. Furthermore, a first position of the first recording area is determined relative to a recording unit based on the depth information and also based on the selection of the first recording area. This results in the first position being determined rapidly and particularly reliably, in particular in the vertical direction.

A method is disclosed for automatically selecting a scanning protocol for a tomographic recording of an X-ray image of a patient in that at least one patient-specific value is retrieved in the internal memory of a first computer. The patient-specific value can in particular be a measure of the anticipated X-ray absorption by the patient. The method includes automatically comparing the patient-specific value with retrievably stored reference values, wherein one scanning protocol can be associated with each reference value. Finally, a scanning protocol is automatically selected by way of the first computer using the comparison. Selection is simplified by automation of selection of the scanning protocol since no manual selection of the scanning protocol has to be made. Automatic selection of a suitable scanning protocol is also quicker than a manual selection.

Method and system for the automatic selection of a scanning protocol

A computer-implemented method and a system for browsing medical thumbnail objects to be displayed on a window on a monitor before loading the medical objects. It is possible to load only those images which indeed are relevant for a user and thus to save transmission time. A display pattern for displaying the thumbnail objects is user-selectable and includes a number of objects to be displayed and advantageously the arrangement or pattern remains constant, even in case a window size has been modified. Using a fixed but user-selectable layout pattern supports selection of relevant images during browsing. The window size is also user-selectable. After having determined the display pattern and the window size the size of the thumbnail objects is calculated automatically according to the determined display pattern and the determined window size. The thumbnail objects are displayed in the calculated object size, which favorably simplifies browsing of complex medical images.

Method and apparatus for displaying medical thumbnail objects in a browsing component

Disclosed are a method, a system and a navigation device for generating and controlling an interaction object, which is preferably in the form of a context menu, on a display unit. In at least one embodiment, the method includes presentation of the interaction object by way of at least one presentation signal from the navigation device and selection of at least one functional element from the presented interaction object by way of at least one selection signal from the navigation device, wherein the selection can be made independently of a movement by the navigation device and wherein the at least one functional element to be selected and/or the selected at least one functional element is presented at a constant location on the display unit by moving within the interaction object or by moving the interaction object.

Control of a scrollable context menu

Provided is a method for accessing medical information. The medical information is distributed across data files. The method includes receiving data files relevant to the medical information, selecting a current layout from a plurality of layouts for making the data files accessible, providing previous layout information, referring to a previous layout in which the data file has been acquired, the previous layout information is usable for automatically adapting the current layout to the previous layout, detecting markers associated with the received data files, the markers referring to a location of interest within one of the received data files, adapting the markers of the previous layout to the current layout to mark the same location of interest, and providing access to the medical information in the selected current layout to make browsable the data files and the markers within the data files.

Findings navigator

A method is disclosed for controlling the display of activation elements for tools for editing medical data on a user interface in a computer-based, medico-technical system. In at least one embodiment, the activation elements are displayed in an activation element area, divided into various segments, of the user interface on the basis of the medical context. The doctor is thus able to select the tools clearly on a task- or indication-specific basis without an image data area of the user interface being concealed by the activation elements.

Indication-dependent control elements

An apparatus for a fast determination of a prescribable number of highest value input signals from a number of input signals each comprising an input word having a number of recoders, each one of the recoders having an input for receiving one of the input signals. The recoders recode the input words into expanded input words having significant bits dependent on a value of the input words and have an output for outputting the expanded input words. A sorting logic has a first input for receiving a control signal identifying the prescribable number and a second input for receiving the expanded input words. The sorting logic forms and outputs a prescribable number of output words of highest value input signals from the expanded input words. The advantage lies in the high processing speed, particularly given large numbers of inputs.
