Embodiments are disclosed of methods and systems for providing information in a single FM tuner system. An example method according to the disclosure provides station information in a single FM tuner system, and comprises receiving radio data system (RDS) data/radio broadcast data system (RBDS) data by the single FM tuner system; extracting frequency information regarding receivable stations from the received RDS/RBDS data and displaying a list of the receivable frequencies; extracting additional information regarding the receivable stations from the received RDS/RBDS data, and displaying the extracted additional information regarding the receivable stations in correspondence with the respective receivable frequencies in the list. Further a single FM tuner system is provided for carrying out the method.

A device and method for controlling reproduction of an audio signal is provided, wherein the device is operated by means of an energy storage device. The method comprises the steps of deactivating a normal mode and activating an energy saving mode. Power consumption from the energy storage device for reproduction of the audio signal is reduced in the energy saving mode when compared to the normal mode. The method comprises reducing in the energy saving mode, a bass frequency component of a frequency spectrum of the audio signal and outputting the audio signal with reduced bass frequency component. The method further comprises ascertaining a charge state of the energy storage device and controlling the reduction in the bass frequency component based on a decrease in the charge state of the energy storage device.

Device and method for reproducing an audio signal

Embodiments of methods and systems for reception improvement of FM tuners are provided. An example method according to the disclosure includes receiving one or more FM broadcast signals in a common channel (Co-C) situation and provides for receiving one or more FM broadcast signals, selecting a preferred signal and outputting said signal as an IF signal. When a Co-C situation occurs, the method calculates a correlation of the one or more signals and outputs the signal showing a larger consistency value.

Method and system for generating augmented reality with a display of a motor vehicle

A system for decoding a stereo multiplex signal, including one or more devices operable to convert the stereo multiplex signal into a sum signal (L+R) and a difference signal (L&#x2212;R). The sum signal and the difference signal may be derived from a left stereo signal (L) and right stereo signal (R). The system may also be operable to determine a first transfer function H(f) and a second transfer function (H(f)) from the sum signal (L+R) and the difference signal (L&#x2212;R). Further, the system may be operable to filter the sum signal (L+R) according to the first transfer function to provide the left stereo signal (L), and filter the sum signal (L+R) according to the second transfer function to provide the right stereo signal (R).

A system for controlling audio reproduction may include an interface operable to receive a data stream of an audio signal. The system may also include a processor. The processor may be operable to: analyze the data stream; divide the data stream into segments; associate audio classes with respective segments in accordance with audio classifications and the analysis of the data stream; and replace one or more of the segments associated with a specific audio class, with an audio file, based on information regarding the audio file and information regarding the specific audio class. A receiving device for mobile reception of a receive signal including an audio signal associated with a currently received piece of music, and a method for playback in a mobile receiver are disclosed. A receiving circuit receives the receive signal and outputs the audio signal and information associated with the audio signal. The information includes one or more information fields associated with the currently received piece of music. An arithmetic unit evaluates the information associated with the audio signal. A database is configured for storing database entries. Each database entry includes data fields and associated audio data. The arithmetic unit assigns the information to an assigned database entry by comparing the information fields with the data fields. The arithmetic unit outputs the audio data of the assigned database entry based on a detected disturbance in the reception of the audio signal.

Receiving device and a method for playback in a mobile receiver

A radio receiver may determine whether a received frequency modulated radio signal includes interference from an adjacent channel. The receiver may compare a frequency deviation above the center frequency of the received signal to a frequency deviation below the center frequency of the received signal. The receiver determines that the radio signal is affected by adjacent channel noise when the frequency deviation below the center frequency is substantially different from the frequency deviation above the center frequency. Alternatively, the presence of noise from an adjacent channel may be detected by comparing a positive amplitude and a negative amplitude of a demodulated version of the frequency modulated radio signal. In this alternative, the receiver determines that the radio signal is affected by adjacent channel noise when the extent of the positive amplitude is substantially different from the extent of the negative amplitude.

A processing front-end for FM radio signals includes a receiver, a filter, and a mixer. The receiver obtains an FM radio signal including data content centered at a data frequency and programming content. The filter is coupled to the receiver and removes the programming content from the FM radio signal. The mixer accepts the filtered FM radio signal and shifts the center frequency of the data content to a lower frequency than the first frequency. The lower frequency is selected according to a sampling rate available in an analog-to-digital converter present in a subsequent processing stage, typically a low cost digital signal processor.

The output of the spectral subtraction filter (SF) is connected to the input of an inverse Fourier transformer (IF), at the output of which an audio signal (A) can be picked up in the time domain which is essentially free of ambient noise.

A motor vehicle entertainment system includes a radio receiver and a control unit. The control unit receives a first status signal indicative of whether or not a motor vehicle door has been unlocked and initiates the application of power to the radio receiver upon the first status signal indicating that the door has been unlocked. Upon the application of power to the radio receiver, the radio receiver scans through a selected frequency spectrum to identify valid frequencies and their associated broadcast identifying information and stores a list of the valid frequencies and their associated broadcast identifying information in a memory device associated with the radio receiver. The radio receiver acquires and records information on a plurality of transmitters initially in a standby mode before it switches over to an operating mode. The radio receiver has a device for receiving an ON command from the user and switches from the standby mode to the operating mode when the ON command is received. The radio receiver may begin to operate before the ON command is input by the user, and independently of this input. If the radio receiver begins to operate in sufficient time before input of the ON command, then collection of transmitter information by the radio receiver may already be complete before the user inputs the ON command, which is typically indicative of the desire of the user to listen to an audio signal.
