A method for monitoring the operation of an electrical assembly having a plurality of coils disposed electrically in a parallel circuit, includes detecting, off-power, the voltage at each coil by using a tap on a winding, determining the AC component of the detected voltage for each coil, determining the mean value of the voltage at the coils, evaluating the determined AC component for each coil with respect to the determined mean voltage, while applying a weighting, and generating a signal if a weighted deviation of a value describing the AC component of a detected voltage in a coil from a value describing the mean voltage exceeds a specified limiting value. An electrical assembly and a method for operating the assembly are also provided.

A capacitor bank which has a plurality of capacitor units, in which each capacitor has a plurality of electrical capacitor elements, and the capacitor units are divided into a plurality of groups of capacitor units. The arrangement has a plurality of group monitoring units, with one of the group monitoring units associated with each group of capacitor units. At least one of the group monitoring units is configured so that it monitors the respective group of capacitor units for a failure of a capacitor element in one of the capacitor units of the group and, when such a failure of a capacitor element is detected, transmits data which describe this failure of the capacitor element to a monitoring receiver.

A method monitors an electrical assembly which contains a plurality of electrical coils connected in parallel. In the method, the difference in current between the current flowing through the coils and the mean value of the currents flowing through the coils is ascertained for each of the coils connected in parallel. The differences in current are used to identify when an inter-turn short circuit occurs in one of the coils.

A converter arrangement includes a converter which can be switched between an AC voltage supply system and a DC voltage circuit and which has converter valves that extend between AC voltage connections and DC voltage connections. Each converter valve has a series connection of bipolar submodules that include power semiconductor devices. The converter arrangement further includes a star point reactor which is located on the AC voltage side of the converter and which has impedance coils that are interconnected to form a grounded neutral point. A suppression filter is connected between the neutral point and a ground connection. The suppression filter is configured to suppress a harmonic of an alternating voltage in the AC voltage supply system.

A converter arrangement has a converter which can be switched between an AC network and a DC voltage circuit and which has power semiconductor valves that extend between AC voltage connections and DC voltage connections. Each power semiconductor valve has a series connection of bipolar submodules that in turn include power semiconductor devices. The arrangement further includes a star point reactor which is arranged on the AC voltage side of the converter and has impedance coils that are connected to a grounded neutral point. In order to better balance the voltages in the DC circuit, the impedance coils have a common coil core.

A material-saving, cost-efficient and simultaneously safe high-voltage system for energy transfer includes a busbar and at least one high-voltage device connected to the busbar by an electrically conductive connecting device or connector. The connecting device or connector has a predetermined breaking point which is constructed in such a manner that the predetermined breaking point will break if a predetermined force is exerted between the busbar and the high-voltage device.

A device for inverting an electric parameter in the field of power transmission and distribution has a converter that can be connected between an alternating current grid and a DC circuit and having power semiconductor valves extending between an alternating current connection and a DC voltage connection. Each power semiconductor valve has a series circuit of bipolar submodules, each with an energy storage device and a power semiconductor circuit in parallel with the energy storage device, and a grid connection unit connected to the alternating current connection for connecting to the alternating current grid. Simple, effective, and inexpensive symmetrization of the voltages in the DC voltage circuit relative to ground potential is brought about. A star point reactor is connected between the grid connection unit and the inverter with a potential node, including throttle coils connected to a grounded star point. The throttle coils are implemented so that said coils implement a current path with a high impedance to ground potential for alternating current at the base frequency of the alternating current grid, and with low impedance to ground potential for DC current.
