A fuel injector includes a solenoid coil, which cooperates with an armature acted upon by a restoring spring, the armature forming an axially displaceable valve part together with a valve needle. A valve-closure member, which forms a sealing seat together with a valve-seat body, is provided on the valve needle. Furthermore, a reliable sealing of a thin-walled valve sleeve or of the magnetic coil exists that is made of a sealing body that is secured beneath the magnetic coil. The sealing body is tetragonal in cross-section, in particular, it has a trapezoid-like shape, and is put in between the magnetic coil and a valve housing. In its installed state, the sealing body is clamped and compressed. In its compressed state, the sealing body assumes an elliptical or egg-shaped cross-section.

A method for joining a first housing component to a second housing component by welding, the first housing component and the second housing component each being constituted as hollow bodies having a closed hollow cross section, a shape of the hollow cross section of the second component corresponding to a shape of the hollow cross section of the first component, including: making available the first housing component having a first inside dimension, making available the second housing component having an outside dimension, the outside dimension of the second housing component being smaller than the inside dimension of the first component, disposing the second housing component in the first housing component so that a peripheral gap is constituted between an inner wall of the first housing component and an outer wall of the second housing component, the region having a gap between the two housing components being a joining region, and welding the first housing component to the second housing component in the region of the gap between the first and the second housing component. A fuel injector has a piezoelectric or magnetostrictive actuator, which actuates a valve-closure member cooperating with a valve-seat surface to form a sealing seat. A hydraulic coupler includes a master piston, a slave piston, and a coupler volumeformed in-between. The master piston and the slave piston are axially displaceable with respect to one another. The coupler volume is connected to a compensating chamber via a throttle. A flexible section delimits the compensating chamber at least partially, and the coupler volume, the throttle, and the compensating chamber are filled with a hydraulic medium. At least one spring element directly or indirectly exerts pressure on the flexible section from the outside, via fixed components.

A connection carrier, e.g., a connection carrier for the bobbins of solenoids, includes a positioning section for positioning the connection carrier in a recess of an injection-molded part surrounding the connection carrier and includes a locking section projecting over the width of the positioning section for anchoring the connection carrier in the injection-molded part.

A solenoid including a substantially cylindrical hollow bobbin made of an insulating material is provided, which is mountable on a housing body and is provided with at least two relay connectors anchored in an end area of the bobbin and projecting axially therefrom, and the solenoid is also coupled to a contact element. The solenoid and the contact element are two separate components which are connectable to each other by a connecting part of the contact element attachable to the housing body, by a suitable securing method, e.g., by soldering or welding.

An assembling device for assembling and disassembling a fuel injector in a mounting hole of a cylinder head of an internal combustion engine has a jacket body at least partially surrounding the fuel injector. A contact section, on which both a hold-down force for holding down the fuel injector in the mounting hole and a disassembling force for disassembling the fuel injector can be exerted on the fuel injector, and a collar section protruding from the mounting hole are formed on the jacket body. The collar section has at least one thread, in which a disassembling screw can be screwed in so that when the disassembling screw is tightened it abuts on the cylinder head and transmits a disassembling force on the collar section so that the assembling device ( ) with the fuel injector ( ) inserted into the assembling device ( ) is extracted.

An assembling device for assembling and disassembling of a fuel injector ( ) in a mounting hole ( ) of a cylinder head in an internal combustion engine has at least two contact surfaces engaging in the fuel injector. A hold-down surface is formed on each elastic contact element to transmit a hold-down force to the fuel injector and a locking recess in which a locking projection of the fuel injector engages to transmit a disassembling force to the fuel injector.
