In a method and apparatus for adjusting a table position in a medical data acquisition scanner, image data relating to a body region are generated by operation of the medical data acquisition scanner by running a scanning protocol. The scanning protocol is intended to be used independently of the body region that is mapped. An iso-mode, in which a relative position of the body region relative to the isocenter of the medical data acquisition scanner can be set via the table position in accordance with an optimization criterion, and on a ref-mode, in which the table position is set at a predetermined reference position, are provided. A mode of operation is selected from the iso-mode and the ref-mode as dependent on anatomical information relating to the body region and/or a relative position of the body region relative to the isocenter that ensues in the reference position, and before the running of and/or during the running of the selected scanning protocol, the table position is set according to the selected mode of operation.

A second MR image is also displayed, that is at least partially distorted, and which represents at least a part of the region encompassed by the first distortion-corrected MR image. The second MR image is superimposed with a second selection symbol that indicates the same scan volume defined by the first selection symbol, but in the second magnetic resonance image. The second selection symbol is then used by an operator to select the actual scan volume from which the diagnostic MR data will be acquired, and a magnetic resonance apparatus is operated to acquire the MR data from that selected scan volume.

In a method and magnetic resonance (MR) apparatus for setting acquisition parameters of a scan protocol, in an operator control console, for a planned MR acquisition procedure of slice groups rotated with respect to one another through an angle relative to an axis of rotation, each containing at least one slice, a graphical representation of the slice groups is used for operator specification of the angle and/or the number of slice groups. After a graphical selection of a starting slice group by a user and selection of a radial slice group operating mode when a first operator action of the user is performed via an input device, the slice group number is increased while the angle is reduced. When a second operator action is performed via the input device, the slice group number is reduced while the angle is increased. The graphical representation is simultaneously updated in each case.

Method and magnetic resonance apparatus for setting acquisition parameters of a scan protocol

In a method and a magnetic resonance (MR) system, a marked area is determined that demarcates a predetermined volume segment of the subject relative to the regions adjacent thereto. Nuclei in the predetermined volume segment are excited, or nuclei in a region adjacent thereto are saturated with an RF excitation pulse at the same time a magnetic field gradient is activated. The center frequency of a frequency range of the RF excitation pulse and the direction of the magnetic field gradient are adjusted dependent on resonant frequencies of substances present within the predetermined volume segment in order, starting from the predetermined volume segment to shift an actual excitation volume segment excited by the RF excitation pulse toward the marked area, or to shift a saturation volume saturated by the RF excitation pulse away from the marked area. MR data are then acquired from the predetermined volume segment.
