The present disclosure relates to a method for determining a volumetric and/or mass flow rate of a medium flowing in a tube, wherein a density and/or a viscosity of the fluid is/are determined using a MEMS sensor chip, wherein the medium flowing in the tube at least partially flows through a measuring channel of the MEMS sensor chip to determine the density and/or the viscosity of the fluid, and wherein the volumetric and/or mass flow rate of the medium is determined regardless of the medium based on a detected pressure drop over the measuring channel of the MEMS sensor chip and the density and/or viscosity determined by the MEMS sensor.

A method for determining properties of a hydrocarbon-containing gas mixture includes determining a thermal conductivity value, density measurement, viscosity measurement, and temperature and pressure. A vibratory measuring device for determining a mass flow rate or a density of a medium includes: a vibratory measuring tube which is curved when in a rest position; a support body; a first bearing body; a second bearing body; two exciter units and two sensor units; and a circuit. The bearing bodies are connected to the support body such that flexural vibration modes of the measuring tube have vibration nodes on the bearing bodies, wherein the exciter units are configured to excite flexural vibrations of the measuring tube, wherein the sensor units are each configured to detect flexural vibrations of the measuring tube both in and perpendicular to the plane and to output vibration-dependent sensor signals, wherein the circuit is configured to output excitation signals to the excitation units for the selective excitation of flexural vibration modes and to receive the sensor signals of the sensor units.

Vibratory measuring device having a measuring tube

A measuring system includes a measuring and operation electronic unit (ME) and a transducer device electrically coupled thereto. The transducer device (MW) has at least one tube, through which fluid flows during operation and which is caused to vibrate meanwhile, a vibration exciter, two vibration sensors for generating vibration signals, and two temperature sensors for generating temperature measurement signals (&#x3b8;1, &#x3b8;2). The temperature sensors are coupled to a wall of the tube in a thermally conductive manner. The ME is designed to feed electrical power into the at least one vibration exciter to cause mechanical vibrations of the tube by an electrical excitation signal. The ME generates a mass flow sequence representing the instantaneous mass flow rate (m) of the fluid, so that, at least for a reference mass flow rate, the mass flow measurement values are independent of the temperature difference.

The present disclosure relates to a gas analyzer for measuring density and/or viscosity of a medium. The gas analyzer includes a connection panel having first and second media openings, each of which extends from a first surface to a second surface of the connection panel. A sensor panel is joined together with the connection panel on a first joint plane, and a cover panel is joined together with the sensor panel on a second joint plane, on a sensor panel face facing away from the connection panel. The cover panel has a cover panel cavity which communicates with the first and second media openings, and the sensor panel has at least one oscillator cavity which communicates with the first and second media openings. The sensor panel has a micromechanical oscillator arranged in the oscillator cavity and excitable to mechanically vibrate perpendicularly to the joint planes.

Gas analyzer and gas analyzing device

A MEMS sensor for measuring at least one measured variable, especially a density, a flow and/or a viscosity, a flowing fluid, is described, comprising: at least one microfluidic channel having a channel section excitable to execute oscillations; and an exciter system for exciting a desired oscillation mode, causing the channel section to execute oscillations in a predetermined plane of oscillation. The MEMS sensor has improved oscillation characteristics at least in part because the channel section is composed of an anisotropic material, having directionally dependent elasticity and which is spatially oriented such that a modulus of elasticity determinative for a stiffness of the channel section relative to deflections of the channel section perpendicular to the plane of oscillation is greater than a modulus of elasticity determinative for a stiffness of the channel section relative to deflections of the channel section in the plane of oscillation.

MEMS sensor for measuring at least one measured variable

A measuring system comprises a measuring and operation electronic unit (ME) and a transducer device electrically coupled thereto. The transducer device has two tubes through which a fluid flows and causes to vibrate, a vibration exciter, two vibration sensors on the inlet and outlet sides, respectively, for generating vibration signals, and an inlet-side temperature sensor coupled to a wall of the tube for thermal conduction and an outlet-side temperature sensor coupled to a wall of the tube for generating temperature measurement signals. The measuring and operation electronic unit feeds electrical power into the vibration exciter in order to effect mechanical vibrations of the tube. Furthermore, the ME generates a mass flow sequence, by means of each of the vibration signals and each of the temperature measurement signals in such a way that mass flow measurement values are independent of the temperature difference.

A method for determining compressibility of a flowing fluid includes: using a pump, driving a volume flow of the fluid through a measuring tube of a vibronic densimeter at a first pressure maintained using a throttle; determining a first density measured value of the fluid at the first pressure; determining a first pressure measured value at the first pressure; driving a volume flow of the fluid through the densimeter at a second pressure; determining a second density measured value at the second pressure different from the first pressure; determining a second pressure measured value at the second pressure; determining compressibility of the fluid based on the first density measured value, the second density measured value, the first pressure measured value and the second pressure measured value assuming the composition of the fluid is unchanged between the registering of the first density measured value and the second density measured value.

A mass flow sensor includes: a vibratory measurement tube bent in a tube plane; a vibration exciter for exciting bending vibrations in a bending vibration use-mode; two vibration sensors for sensing vibrations; a support system having a support plate, bearing bodies on the inlet and sides; and a sensor housing, wherein: the support system has support system vibration modes which include elastic deformations of the support plate; the measurement tube is connected fixedly to the support plate by the bearing body on the inlet side and by the bearing body on the outlet side; and the support plate has a number of spring-loaded bearings exposed through cut-outs in the support plate by which the support plate is mounted on the sensor housing with degrees of vibrational freedom, the natural frequencies of which are lower than a use-mode natural frequency of the bending vibration use-mode.
