A sheet panel () is capable of being used with a base panel () to form a retention packaging system. The sheet panel () includes a first overwrap panel (), a second overwrap panel (), a sheet () connected to the first overwrap panel () and to the second overwrap panel (), and a detachable portion () between the first and second overwrap panels and configured to be detached from the sheet panel. After the detachable portion () is detached from the sheet panel (), the first overwrap panel () is configured to be selectively attached to a first tension flap () of the base panel at one of a plurality of locations on the first tension flap and the second overwrap panel () is configured to be selectively attached to a second tension flap () of the base panel at one of a plurality of locations on the second tension flap such that the sheet () spans between the first and second tension flaps ().

Retention packaging assembly with separate components

A retention packaging system includes a frame (), a sheet (), and an attachment zone (). The frame includes a first panel (), a second panel (), and a sheet panel (). The frame is foldable to a first folded state where the frame forms a space having an opening with the sheet panel () foldably connected to the first panel (). The sheet is attached to the frame across a portion of the sheet panel. The frame is foldable to a second folded state where an attachment end () of the sheet panel () is attached to the attachment zone () with the sheet spanning across of the opening. In the second folded state, one side of the attachment end () is attached to a portion of the attachment zone () on the second panel () and the other side of the attachment end () is attached to another portion of the attachment zone () on an attachment flap () foldably connected to the second panel ().

Retention packaging assembly

A packaging structure for restraining an object comprises a panel and a film. The panel comprises a platform portion, an end flap portion, and a hinge portion. The end flap portion is foldably connected to the platform portion along an end flap fold line. The hinge portion comprises top and bottom hinge sections foldably connected to each other along a first hinge fold line between the top and bottom hinge sections. The film extends across the end flap fold line and is attached to the end flap portion and is also attached to the panel outside of the end flap portion. The packaging structure is foldable to an engaged position in which the object may be restrained between the film and the platform portion of the panel.

Packaging assembly

A packaging structure for holding an article within an outer container includes a frame having a main portion for receiving the article, and a pair of side legs and a pair of end legs foldably connected to the main portion for supporting the main portion. The main portion includes a series of foldable members, the foldable members in a first group being pivotable about axes extending in a first direction and the foldable members in a second group being pivotable about axes extending in a second direction different from the first direction. In one embodiment, the main portion may include a panel for supporting the article, and at least one flexible film for connecting the panel to the frame. A pair of these packaging structures may be arranged in confronting relationship within the outer container so that the article being packaged is held in place between the support panel in one packaging structure and the support panel in the other packaging structure. In another embodiment, a flexible film may be connected to the side legs of the frame such that, in an unfolded condition, there is slack between the film and the main portion of the frame. An article to be packaged is placed between the film and the main portion, and the side legs are placed in a folded condition, tensioning the film against the article. The packaging structure and the article held therein may be held in place in an outer container.
