Described herein is a process for producing a pipe insulated with polyurethane foam, where (a) isocyanates are mixed with (b) polyols, (c) blowing agent including at least one aliphatic, halogenated hydrocarbon compound (c1), made up of from 2 to 5 carbon atoms, at least one hydrogen atom and at least one fluorine and/or chlorine atom, where the compound (c1) includes at least one carbon-carbon double bond, (d) catalyst including N,N-dialkylbenzylamine, optionally (e) chain extenders and/or crosslinkers and optionally (f) auxiliaries and additives to give a reaction mixture, the reaction mixture is applied to a pipe for media and is allowed to cure to give the polyurethane foam. Also described herein is an insulated pipe obtained by such a process and a method of using such an insulated pipe as insulated composite wall pipe for district heating or district cooling networks laid in the ground.

The disclosure provides a composite element having a layer structure with 2 mm to 20 mm of metal, 10 mm to 100 mm of compact polyurethane formulation and another 2 mm to 20 mm of metal, a method of using thereof and corresponding production process therefor. The polyurethane formulation is obtainable by reacting (a) a compound having at least two isocyanate groups with (b) polyether polyol and the polyether polyol (b) is a mixture including at least the constituents of polyether polyol (b1) and polyether polyol (b2).

Composite element having improved properties

Described herein is a process for producing insulated pipes including providing a media pipe and a film hose continuously formed from a film or a media pipe and a jacketing pipe, wherein the media pipe is arranged inside the film hose or the jacketing pipe and a slot is formed between the media pipe and the film hose or jacketing pipe, wherein an adhesion promoter is applied to the surface of the media pipe facing the film hose or the jacketing pipe, introducing a polyurethane system at least including an isocyanate component (a) including at least one isocyanate, a polyol component (b), and at least one catalyst into the slot before the adhesion promoter is fully cured, and foaming and curing the polyurethane system. Also described herein are insulated pipes obtainable or obtained by such a process.

Method for producing insulated pipes

Described herein are processes for producing cold-flexible polyurethane insulation, in which (a) polyisocyanates are mixed with (b) compounds having groups which are reactive to isocyanates, (c) blowing agents, (d) catalysts, (e) plasticizers and optionally (f) further additives to give a reaction mixture and the mixture is applied to a surface and cured to form insulation. Also described herein is a polyurethane insulation obtainable by a process described herein.
