The present invention relates to MEK inhibitor, p38 inhibitor and/or NF&#x3ba;B inhibitor for use in a method for the prophylaxis and/or treatment of a co-infection comprising a bacterial infection and an influenza virus infection or a bacterial infection alone. Also provided are compositions comprising such inhibitors for use in the prophylaxis and/or treatment of a co-infection comprising a bacterial infection and an influenza virus infection or a bacterial infection alone. In addition an in vitro test system, wherein the test system comprises cultured cells infected with an influenza virus and aor with aalone is provided.

Anti-infective strategy against influenza virus andcoinfections

The invention provides a combination of an isolated peptide or peptidomimetic that includes the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1 or a homolog thereof, and an isolated peptide or peptidomimetic that includes the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2. The invention also provides a method of treating a BCR-ABL associated disease or a c-ABL associated disease in a subject. The method is based on the use of the aforementioned combination of one or more isolated peptides or peptidomimetics.
