The invention relates to a novel combined disinfection and decontamination agent comprising at least one vitamin, at least one metal ion, at least one active-surface compound, and at least one further antimicrobial active substance. The agent according to the invention surprisingly shows nearly complete nucleic acid disintegration in addition to an improved disinfectant effect. The agent can be successfully used as a combined decontamination and disinfection agent for skin, mucous membranes, hands, wounds, and/or hair, and instruments and surfaces of all kinds.

Combined disinfection and decontamination agent having increased effectiveness

The invention relates to the use of a composition comprising a vitamin, a metal ion, and a surfactant, as a therapeutic agent or disinfectant. The composition has been known as a decontaminant because the same efficiently decomposes DNA. It has now been possible to demonstrate that the agent has surprisingly good compatibility while having a wide-ranging disinfecting effect and is therefore also suitable for other purposes, e.g., for disinfecting or dressing wounds.

Use of a synergistic composition as a therapeutic agent of disinfectant

Aqueous wound and mucous membrane disinfectant containing a) octenidine dihydrochloride, and b) one or more active ingredients selected from the group ethanol, 1-propanol, 2-propanol, undecylene amidopropyl trimonium methosulfate, 3-(4-chlorophenoxy)-1,2-propanediol and/or sodium hydroxymethylglycinate and c) glycerin and/or 1,2-diols having 3 to 10 carbon atoms, and d) optionally surfactants, emulsifiers, solubilizers, pH regulators, dyestuffs, perfumes and/or thickeners, the agent being free of phenoxyethanol, phenoxypropanol, phenoxyisopropanol and organic acids.
