The invention relates to a catalyst for catalysing the polymerisation of epoxides, and which is to be improved such that it allows a more efficient reaction to be carried out. This is achieved by providing a catalyst obtainable by mixing a) at least one double metal cyanide compound, b) at least one organic complexing agent, and c) at least one primary alcohol with 6 to 24 C atoms. In addition, the invention relates to a method for the polymerisation of epoxides, and to the use of the claimed catalyst for the polymerisation of epoxides and the copolymerisation of epoxides with carbon dioxide.

Polyether block copolymers of the general structure B-(A-OH)are described, where n is greater than or equal to 2 and blocks A are made up of polyoxypropylene units and the central block B of polyoxytetramethylene, polyoxyethylene, polybutadiene, polyisoprene, polyacrylate, polymethacrylate, polyamide, polyurethane, or polyester units. These polyether block copolymers are suitable for the manufacture of compositions that serve as the basis for preparations for use as a one-component moisture-hardening or two-component adhesive or sealant, for assembly bonding, for areal bonding, and/or for coating, as a reactive melt adhesive or as a laminating adhesive.

The invention relates to a foamable mixture which contains at least one alkoxysilane-terminated prepolymer and which can be produced of a) at least one alkoxysilane that was functionalized with isocyanate groups and that can be produced of at least one hydroxyfunctional and/or aminofunctional alkoxysilane and at least one diisocyanate or polyisocyanate, and b) at least one compound that contains at least one OH group, and at least one blowing agent, characterized in that the foamable mixture has a dynamic viscosity of 100 to 25,000 mPas, preferably 500 to 10,000 mPas, at 23&#xb0; C. The invention further relates to a method for producing said foamable mixture. The foamable mixtures according to the invention are suitable for sealing, insulating and mounting joints, roof surfaces, windows and doors or for filling hollow spaces.

Silylated polyurethanes can be manufactured by reacting at least one polyol compound, having a molecular weight from 4000 to 20,000 dalton, with a diisocyanate, with a stoichiometric excess of the diisocyanate compound with respect to the polyol compound or compounds, with the result that a polyurethane prepolymer that is isocyanate-terminated is formed; and by subsequently reacting the polyurethane prepolymer with one or more OH-terminated silanes of formula (1) to yield a polyurethane having predominantly terminal alkoxysilyl groups. In formula (1), m is equal to 0, 1, or 2, Ris an alkyl residue having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, Ris an alkyl residue having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, Ris a divalent organic residue having 1 to 12 atoms, selected from C, N, S, and/or O, in the chain, but by preference exclusively carbon atoms, Ris a hydrogen atom or an alkyl residue having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, and R is a difunctional organic group, preferably a linear or branched alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms. The silylated polyurethanes are suitable for use in a preparation as an adhesive, sealant, or coating agent.

The invention relates to reactive, urea-bonded alkoxysilanes based on polyether block copolymers reacted with diisocyanate, said copolymers being of the structure B-Ain which the central block B consists of polyoxytetramethylene, polyoxyethylene, polybutadiene, polyisoprene, polyacrylate, polymethacrylate, polyamide, polyurethane or polyester units and the blocks A consist of polyoxypropylene units, and to a method for producing such alkoxysilanes. Preparations containing one or more urea-bonded alkoxysilanes can be used as an adhesive, sealant or coating agent.

Curable compositions consisting of silanes with three hydrolysable groups

This disclosure relates to a curable composition comprising at least one polymer A with at least one reactive silyl group and at least one polymer B with at least one reactive silyl group, the number of reactive silyl groups in the polymer A being greater or equal to the number of silyl groups in polymer B and the reactive silyl groups being capable of cross-linking to form siloxane bonds.
