An access control terminal includes guidance members to establish an access lane having a signal- or blocking element and a multi-beam phased antenna array. An electronic gate controller is connected to the multi-beam phased antenna array to communicate via Bluetooth protocol with mobile Bluetooth communication devices. A proximity sensor is arranged within the access lane to detect a patron approaching an entry area of the access lane, and the gate controller is configured to enable data input supplied by the Bluetooth protocol via the multi beam phased antenna array after the proximity sensor indicates the presence of a patron to request transmission of the access credentials from the smartphone. The gate controller is configured to command the signal- or blocking element to move to the open state if the access credentials are validated and the field strength indicator (RSSI) values are within predefined limits.

Access control terminals

A device for checking access permissions includes an access area with guidance devices for forming an access lane for separating people or objects, in which blocking and/or signal means define an access threshold. A gate controller having a Bluetooth radio interface allows an access permission to be read from mobile data carriers, and positive validation of the access permission results in the access controller releasing the blocking and/or signal means and thus allowing separate passage through the access threshold. An access lane has an associated multiphase antenna group, the transmission/reception antennas of which are actuated by a Bluetooth transceiver module via an antenna feed network in such a way that at least two antenna lobes form that are at different distances from the access threshold as seen in the direction of access.

Device for checking access permissions

A device for checking access authorizations stored on data carriers is provided, having a reading unit, arranged in the access region, for the data carrier, said reading unit actuating a signaling means and/or a blocking means, wherein the reading unit includes a housing having an insertion region for the data carrier and the insertion region having an upper first wall with a reading module sensing the insertion region, a lower second wall of the insertion region be fastened detachably and/or pivotably to the housing, that the reading unit can be changed from a first state to a second state in a predefinable manner by pivoting and/or removing the lower second wall, wherein in the first state of the reading unit, the second wall, together with the first wall, forms a U- or V-shaped insertion region and in the second state, the insertion region is L-shaped and open towards the bottom.
