Systems and methods for sound damping in air conditioning systems in an aircraft is provided. In one embodiment, an air conditioning conduit can comprise a sound-damping wall that at least partially encloses a continuous hollow space for guiding the air. The wall comprises a multilayer design with a core layer and at least one first cover layer. The core layer comprises a sound-absorbing open-pore core material so that the wall shows an acoustic effect. The first cover layer is airtight, is arranged on the external surface of the core layer, and is two-dimensionally connected to the core layer. The two-dimensional connection between the core layer and the first cover layer causes a composite effect in such a manner that the wall is self-supporting and has a structural function in order to be able to transfer mechanically-occurring loads to structural parts of the aircraft.

Acoustically optimized air conditioning components

A wall element for the sound-insulating interior lining of a transport device, comprising at least one sandwich element, at least one insulation package and at least one absorber plane element. The sandwich element comprises at least one core layer, a first cover layer and a second cover layer, wherein the first cover layer and the second cover layer are each arranged on one side of the core layer. At least the first or the second cover layer is a microperforated layer; the sandwich element possesses a shear rigidity that is adjusted in such a way that the sandwich element comprises one or several coincidence boundary frequencies that are determined by the shear rigidity, which coincidence boundary frequencies are outside the frequency range that dominates the noise in the interior of the cabin; and the shear rigidity of the sandwich element at the same time is sufficient for said sandwich element to be used as an interior lining. Sound-insulating interior lining according to the aspects according to the invention provides adequate sound insulation also in the lower frequency range of below 500 Hz, without increasing the weight of the interior lining when compared to the weight of conventional interior linings.

An aircraft cabin panel for acoustic absorption in an interior space includes a core layer, a first cover layer and a second cover layer. The first cover layer includes a space-enclosing first surface, and the second cover layer is arranged opposite the first cover layer. The first cover layer is acoustically transparent, and the core layer includes a honeycomb core with a plurality of tubular or honeycomb-like cells that are open throughout the thickness of the honeycomb core. The honeycomb core on the face pointing towards the first cover layer extends parallel to the first cover layer so as to be continuously throughout, and on the face pointing towards the second cover layer comprises recesses which extend over several cells. Absorbers are accommodated in the recesses.

The invention pertains to an insulation structure for thermally and acoustically insulating an aircraft that features at least one heavy layer, wherein the insulation structure according to the invention is characterized in that the insulation structure comprises an additional absorption layer, in that the heavy layer is perforated at least in certain areas, and in that the perforated area ratio of the heavy layer is adapted in such a way that the heavy layer is essentially transparent to sound for frequencies below a double-wall frequency of the insulation structure. This makes it possible to dampen sound with low frequencies below the double-wall frequency as effectively as possible.

A fastening element includes, but is not limited to at least one first body, at least one second body, and at least one locking device. The first body and the second body in each case on one end include, but are not limited to a pressing element for pressing an insulation package against an object. The first body and the second body movably engage each other so that the pressing elements are located at opposite ends of the fastening element. The at least one relative position of the first body to the second body may be fixed by means of the locking device. In this way effective fastening of insulation packages to objects in an aircraft cabin may be ensured without all the insulation packages having to comprise openings for accommodating fastening pins.

An aircraft cabin panel for sound absorption, with a sandwich construction, comprising a core layer that comprises a plurality of tube-like or honeycomb-like cells that extend in an open manner across the thickness of the core layer and that are separated from each other by cell walls and that are uniform in design. A first cover layer faces away from the sound field, as well as a second cover layer that faces towards the sound field and that comprises a plurality of perforation holes and adjacent cells are interconnected by way of apertures in the cell walls. The perforation of the second cover layer comprises a distance (b) between holes, which distance exceeds the opening width (c) of the cells of the core layer, wherein the first cover layer is closed and wherein the cell walls comprise a perforation so that they are acoustically transparent in the direction parallel to the cover layers.

A description is given of a sandwich structure which comprises a core and outer layers arranged on both sides of the core, in which the core has core clearances which are dimensioned such that the acoustic behavior of the sandwich structure in the region of the core clearances corresponds to the acoustic behavior of a double wall, and at the same time the global acoustic behavior of the sandwich structure is retained.
