There is provided mechanisms for random access handling of a UE. A method is performed by a network node. The method comprises receiving, from the UE during a first RAO, a first RA preamble, whilst refraining from responding to the first RA preamble. The method comprises transmitting, towards the UE and without the network node first having received any retransmitted RA preamble from the UE, one RAR for each of N possible RA preambles, where each RAR comprises a TA command corresponding to a TA value estimated for the first RA preamble. The method comprises receiving, from the UE during a further RAO, a retransmitted RA preamble. The method comprises determining whether the TA value for the retransmitted RA preamble matches the TA value for the first RA preamble or not.

A method, system and apparatus for network slicing in cellular systems are disclosed. According to one aspect, a network node is provided. The network node includes processing circuitry configured to determine virtual resources at least in part by logically slicing a plurality of physical resources across a spatial domain, and assign the virtual resources to a first radio bearer associated with a first wireless device.

Methods and systems for dynamically selecting a link adaptation policy, LAP. In some embodiments, the method includes generating a machine learning, ML, model, wherein generating the ML model comprises providing training data to an ML algorithm. The method further includes using channel quality information, additional information, and the ML model to select a LAP from a set of predefined LAPs. In some embodiments, the additional information comprises: neighbor cell information about a second cell served by a second TRP, distance information indicating a distance between a UE and a first TRP, and/or gain information indicating radio propagation gain between the UE and the serving node. The method further includes the first TRP transmitting second data to the UE using the selected LAP.

According to some embodiments, a method in a wireless device comprises: receiving a control channel (e.g., physical downlink control channel (PDCCH)) that includes control information that indicates a set of time and frequency resources allocated for the wireless device to receive a data transmission; determining that the set of time and frequency resources allocated for data transmission overlaps with a control resource region (e.g., control resource set (CORESET)); and receiving the data transmission in the set of time and frequency resources allocated for data transmission. The control information may include a bitmap that indicates at one or more groups of time and frequency resources excluded/included for the data transmission region.

In some embodiments, the method includes using channel quality information, additional information, and a machine learning, ML, model to select a LAP from a set of predefined LAPs, the set of predefined LAPs comprising a first LAP and a second LAP. In some embodiments, the additional information comprises: neighbor cell information about a second cell served by a second TRP, distance information indicating a distance between a UE and a first TRP, and/or gain information indicating a radio propagation gain between the UE and the serving node. A method performed by a network node, for handling link adaption (LA) of a channel. The network node obtains a channel quality value for each Transmission Time Interval (TTI) in a set of TTIs. The network node estimates a probability that a specific channel quality will occur from the obtained channel quality values for the set of TTIs based on a distribution of channel quality values. The network node further determines a set of transmission parameters which optimizes a target function of LA, based on the estimated probability for the channel quality, wherein each set of transmission parameters is mapped to a channel quality which is required for a successful reception.
