Texturing device and method for texturing continuous yarns

The invention relates to an entanglement nozzle and to a method for producing fine knotted yarn with highly regular knots by means of air jets comprising a yarn treatment channel. According to said method, air is blown transversally to the yarn treatment channel. Said blown air forms a respective double swirl both in the yarn transport direction and against the yarn transport direction for creating the knots. According to the invention, upon entry into the yarn treatment channel, the blown air is converted into two intense, stationary eddy currents that are not disrupted by filament bundles, in an air swirling chamber that only extends for a short distance in the longitudinal direction of the yarn channel. The regularity of the knots can be significantly improved, despite the tiny dimensions of the air swirling chamber, which projects beyond the longitudinal wall of the yarn channel for a maximum 0.5 mm or for 5% to 22% of the width (B) of said channel. It is also possible to create hard or soft knots that can be subsequently undone.

The new invention proposes that filament yarns, in particular partially stretched yarns known as POY yarns, be subjected to stretch texturing via an air treatment nozzle. The air treatment nozzles are designed in miniaturized form, have a continuous yarn duct in which there open a plurality of transverse bores for the supply of high pressure air in the range over 14 bar, preferably within specific working windows between 20 and 50 bar. With the new invention, it was possible for the first time to process POY yarn via simultaneous stretch texturing using an air twister. The invention allows an individual thread as well as a parallel bundle of threads to be treated and permits for the first time the construction of a false twist stretch texturing bundle device with simultaneous air treatment of 500 to 1000 and more threads.

Method and device for treating filament yarn with air

The device has a guide body (1) with a through bore, which exhibits an outlet opening (3). A needle body contains a through yarn channel, which is coaxially aligned with the bore of guide body (1). One end of the needle body extends into a conical inlet section of the guide body bore and forms, with it, a passage gap for the blowing air. The blowing air is introduced by two feed bores (11, 12) into the annular space in front of the passage gap. An impact body (9) is placed in the area of outlet opening (3). A yarn (FT), coming from outlet opening (3), is deflected in front of impact body (9) from a median plane (M), which contains the axis of the guide body bore point (A) described by the intersection of a median plane (M), a plane (E) parallel to the axis of the guide body bore and perpendicular to plane (M) and located in such a way that the cross sectional areas of the medium feed bores on opposite sides of said plane (E) are equal, and a plane perpendicular to said axis and including the mouths by which the medium feed bores (11, 12) empty into an annular space in the conical inlet section (7). As a result the textured yarn becomes more compact and has only small uniformly distributed projecting loops.

A texturing device consists of nozzle (1) with a guide duct (2) and a radial bore for feeding a pressure medium terminating in the guide duct. The duct is outwardly flared with a convexly curved outlet opening (2'), and a spherical or semispherical guide element (5) extending into the outlet opening and forming therewith an annular gap (4). The outer diameter of the outlet opening (2') corresponds to at least four times the diameter of the duct (2) and to at least 0.5 times the diameter of the guide element (5).

Textile yarn is led through the front face of a die 11, which is located on a moistening device 8, before being fed to the texturing jet 15. The die is fed from a pipe 7 leading from a moisture tank 1 and has an outlet aperture on its front face at the termination of an internal bore. The quantity of fluid fed to the tank 1 is so adjusted by means of a flow regulator 5, that a fluid level h is maintained in the tank, which corresponds to a throughput of fluid through the bore of the die 11 which is matched to the titre and the rate of flow of the yarn.
