The present invention relates, inter alia, to the use of porous crystalline solids constituted of a metal-organic framework (MOF) for the selective adsorption of aldehyde volatile organic compounds. The MOF solids of the present invention can be used for the improved purification of dry or humid air, and for the manufacture of regenerable filters for air purification, particularly leak-free regenerable air filters.

Regenerable VOC filters with improved selectivity and efficacy

The present invention relates to the use of 2,5-furanedicarboxylate-based MOFs, such as, MIL-160(AI) metal-organic framework, for separating C6 alkane isomers into linear, mono-branched and di-branched isomers. The present invention also relates to the use of 2,5-furanedicarboxylate-based MOFs, such as, MIL-160(AI) metal-organic framework, preferably in combination with Zeolite 5A for producing higher research octane number gasoline blends. Also within the scope of the invention is a system for separating C6 and C5 alkane isomer mixtures into linear, mono-branched and di-branched fractions.

Use of porous 2,5-furanedicarboxylate-based MOFs for improved separation of branched alkanes

The present invention relates to low temperature process for preparing nanoparticles of porous crystalline Fe-, Al- or Ti-based MOF carboxylate materials with low polydispersity index, and uses thereof, particularly as catalyst support for carrying out heterogeneously catalyzed chemical reactions, or as gas storage/separation/purification material, or as matrix for encapsulating active principles (medicine, cosmetics).

Low temperature process for the synthesis of MOF carboxylate nanoparticles

The use of porous crystalline solids constituted of a metal-organic framework (MOF) for the capture of polar volatile organic compounds (VOCs). In particular, the MOF of interest are material having an average pores sizes of 0.4 to 0.6 nm and an hydrophobic core formed by a metal oxide and/or hydroxide network connected by linkers, the linkers being selected from the group including (i) C-Caromatic polycarboxylate linkers, such as benzyl or naphtyl di-, tri- or tetracarboxylate, and (ii) C-Cpolycarboxylate aliphatic linkers; the linkers bearing or not apolar fluorinated groups, e.g. &#x2014;(CF)n&#x2014;CFgroups, n being a integer from 0 to 5, preferably 0 ou 3, and/or apolar C-Cpreferably C-Calkyl groups, e.g. &#x2014;CHor &#x2014;CH&#x2014;CH, grafted directly to the linkers and pointing within the pores of the MOF. The MOF solids used in the present invention can be used for the purification of air, for example for the capture of polar VOCs like acetic acid and aldehydes from indoor air in cars, museums and archives, much more efficiently than common adsorbents, particularly in presence of above normal levels of humidity. They can in particular be used for the preservation of cultural heritage.

Metal organic frameworks for the capture of volatile organic compounds

The present invention concerns metal-organic hybrid solids having a modified outer surface. These solids can be used, for example, for the storage and vectoring of molecules of interest such as pharmaceutically active ingredients, compounds of interest in cosmetics and markers, for example contrast agents. These solids have good results in terms of active drug loading capacities, biocompatibility, stability and controlling the release of the active ingredients encapsulated.

The present invention relates to a method for preparing a porous organic-inorganic hybrid, which comprises gelling a reaction mixture containing a metal precursor, a water-soluble additive and water or water-containing organic solvent at a gelling temperature of 30&#xb0; C.&#x2dc;100&#xb0; C. to obtain an organogel-containing solution having a viscosity of 2 to 50,000 (cps), subsequently ageing the solution at said gelling temperature under stirring; and subsequently heating the organogel-containing solution at a temperature between said gelling temperature and 250&#xb0; C. to crystallize the solution. The present invention relates to a method for preparing iron-containing porous organic-inorganic hybrid materials where the organic compound ligand is bonded to a central metal and has a large surface area and pores of molecular size or nano size, by irradiating microwaves instead of heat treatments such as the conventional electric heating, etc. as the heat source of the hydrothermal or solvothermal synthesis reaction, after reacting a metal or metal salt and organic compound to form crystal nuclei by a predetermined pre-treatment operation in the presence of a solvent. In another aspect, a method of the present invention further comprises the step of purifying the obtained porous organic-inorganic hybrid materials by treating them with inorganic salt. In particular, a method of the present invention is characterized by not using a hydrofluoric acid.
