Systems and methods of the present disclosure are directed to automatic control of mute controllers for participants in videoconferences. For example, a method for automatically controlling a mute control associated with a participant during a videoconference includes obtaining communication data associated with the participant participating in the videoconference. The communication data includes audio signals associated with the participant and/or visual signals associated with the participant. The method includes processing the communication data by a gate control model to generate an output. The output is indicative of an intent of the participant to communicate with other participants of the videoconference. The method includes generating a noise gate status based at least in part on the output associated with the gate control model. The method includes automatically controlling the mute control of the participant based at least in part on the noise gate status.

Videoconference automatic mute control system

A method for detecting and flagging problems in videoconferencing is provided. The method includes collecting, by a processing device of a user videoconferencing device, one or more sets of acoustic parameters associated with a conference room. Each set of the one or more sets of acoustic parameters is associated with a video conference attended by a corresponding plurality of users. The method further includes determining whether a first set of the one or more sets of acoustic parameters suggest an action to be performed to improve the first set of acoustic parameters associated with the video conference. The method further includes providing at least one of the one or more sets of acoustic parameters associated with the conference room or the action to be performed to improve the first set of acoustic parameters.

Detecting and flagging acoustic problems in video conferencing

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for reducing audio noise are disclosed. In one aspect, a method includes the actions of receiving first audio data of a user utterance. The actions further include determining an energy level of second audio data being outputted by the loudspeaker. The actions further include selecting a model from among (i) a first model that is trained using first audio data samples that each encode speech from one speaker and (ii) a second model that is trained using second audio data samples that each encode speech from either one speaker or two speakers. The actions further include providing the first audio data as an input to the selected model. The actions further include receiving processed first audio data. The actions further include outputting the processed first audio data.

Audio noise reduction

A method for detecting and flagging problems in videoconferencing is provided. The method includes measuring, by a processing device of a user videoconferencing device, a first set of acoustic data associated with a conference room during a video conference attended by a plurality of users. The first set of acoustic data indicates one or more acoustic parameters, including the reverberation time, the signal-to-noise ratio, or the absolute noise level of the conference room. The method further includes comparing the one or more first acoustic parameters to one or more thresholds during the video conference. Moreover, the method includes providing at least one of the first acoustic parameters or a result of the comparison to the at least one user during the video conference.

A method for detecting and flagging problems in videoconferencing is provided. The method includes measuring, by a processing device of a videoconferencing device, a first set of acoustic data associated with a conference room during a video conference attended by a plurality of users. The first set of acoustic data indicates one or more acoustic parameters, including the reverberation time, the signal-to-noise ratio, or the absolute noise level of the conference room. The method further includes determining whether the acoustic parameters suggest that a feedback is to be provided to one or more of the users regarding an action to be performed to improve the acoustic parameters during the video conference. Moreover, the method includes responsive to determining that the feedback is to be provided to at least one user, providing the feedback to the at least one user during the video conference.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium may include instructions stored thereon. When executed by at least one processor, the instructions may be configured to cause a computing system to determine that a video system is aiming at a single speaker of a plurality of people, receive audio signals from a plurality of microphones, the received audio signals including audio signals generated by the single speaker, based on determining that the video system is aiming at the single speaker, transmit a monophonic signal, the monophonic signal being based on the received audio signals, determine that the video system is not aiming at the single speaker, and based on the determining that the video system is not aiming at the single speaker, transmit a stereophonic signal, the stereophonic signal being based on the received audio signals.

Controlling focus of audio signals on speaker during videoconference

The present invention relates to a device, such as an audio communication device, for combining a plurality of microphone signals x(k) into a single output signal y(k). The device comprises processing means configured to calculate control signals f(k), and control means configured to select which microphone signal x(k) or which combination of microphone signals x(k) to use as output signal y(k) based on said control signals f(k). To improve the selection, the device comprises linear prediction filters for calculating linear prediction residual signals e(k) from the plurality of microphone signals x(k), and the processing means is configured to calculate the control signals f(k) based on said linear prediction residual signals e(k).

Method and device for microphone selection

The present invention relates to a device, such as a communication device, comprising an adaptive foreground filter configured to calculate a first echo estimation signal based on a first input signal, and an adaptive background filter being more rapidly adapting than the foreground filter and configured to calculate a second echo estimation signal based on said first input signal. Embodiments of the device further comprise damping control means for controlling damping of an echo-cancelled output signal.
