A needle insertion and retraction mechanism for a medication delivery device includes a housing and a needle carrier holding a needle guided by the housing and moved along a needle axis. A first spring member is adapted to move the carrier in an insertion direction. A second spring member is adapted to retract the carrier in a retraction direction, opposite the insertion direction. A control element, linearly guided by the housing, moves transversely to the needle axis from a starting position, via a needle insertion release position, to a needle retraction release position. When the control element is in its starting position, the control element is coupled to the carrier to prevent the carrier from moving in the insertion direction. When the control element is in the release position, the control element is decoupled from the carrier and the first spring member drives the carrier in the needle insertion direction.

Needle insertion and retraction mechanism

An assembly for an injection or infusion device includes i) a cartridge being closed by a septum and the surface of the septum being sterile and covered by a first continuous flexible strip, and ii) a fluid path unit comprising a cartridge holder and a fluid path compartment comprising a needle in an interior, the needle is configured to penetrate the septum of the cartridge through a passage in the fluid path compartment. The passage is closed by a second continuous flexible strip keeping the interior of the fluid path compartment in a sterile condition. The cartridge is inserted into the cartridge holder aligning the septum with the passage and sandwiching both strips between the septum and the fluid path compartment. Both strips may be simultaneously removable from the cartridge and fluid path compartment thereby, establishing a sterile connection between the septum and the interior of the fluid path compartment.

Assembly for an injection or infustion device

An injection device configured for attachment to the skin of a patient includes a housing and a skin adhesive layer attached to an external surface of the housing for attaching the injection device to the skin of a patient. A release liner covering the skin adhesive layer prevents the injection device from attaching to the skin. A film with one end connected to a surface inside of the housing forms a removable sterile barrier and the other end connected to an external surface of the release liner without contacting the skin adhesive layer. The housing, skin adhesive layer and release liner each include a notch defining a passage for the film so that the second end of the film can extend from the interior to the exterior of the housing.

Dosing device for an administration device with a limiting mechanism containing: a dosing sleeve with a first stop and a stop wheel with a second stop means adapted to continually and proportionally follow a movement of the dosing sleeve during dosing movements. During an ejection movement, there is no relative movement between dosing sleeve and stop wheel. The first stop and the second stop each describe a path curve by their movements such that the two path curves intersect in one point and the stops contact one another and tilt the stop wheel, thereby blocking the dosing movement of the dosing sleeve. The stop wheel comprises first and third sloped surfaces that may form first and second gear guidances with a clutch thereby returning the stop wheel to a non-tilted position during up or down dosing movements when the stops do not contact another.

Injection pen

An injection device configured for attachment to the skin of a patient using an adhesive layer includes a release liner covering the adhesive layer thereby preventing skin attachment. The release liner comprises a sheet of material where a first surface contacts the adhesive layer, and an aperture defining a passage for a film connected to a first sterile barrier film located within the injection device. An end of the film is connected to a second surface of the sheet of material that is opposite to the first surface, and the release liner is covered by a strengthening sheet connected to the second surface and covering the aperture and the end of the film.

An autoinjector comprises a housing, a product container, a displaceable needle protection sleeve, a plunger rod displaceable by a preloaded discharge spring, a dose setting element with at least two different rotational positions relative to the housing, and a dosing sleeve. The dosing sleeve or the plunger rod has a dose selection stop, and the other has at least one dosing stop. By rotating the dose setting element, the dosing sleeve or the plunger rod is rotated relative to the other. Upon displacement of the needle protection sleeve, the spring displaces the plunger rod, whereby, if the dose setting element is in the first rotational position, the dose selection stop and the first dosing stop strikes against each other, and, if the dose setting element is in the second rotational position, one of the dose selection stop and the first dosing stop is or can be moved past the other.

An injection device includes a product container having an injection needle, a needle protection cap detachably secured to the product container surrounds the injection needle and seals same in a sterile manner. A cap is connected to the needle protection cap, via a remover element having an engaging element, in such a way that the removal of the cap from the injection device brings about the removal of the needle protection cap from the product container, where the engaging element is in an engaging position in relation to the needle protection cap, where in the engaging position, a section of the needle protection cap is arranged distally in line with the engaging element, characterized in that the cap and the engaging element are coupled in such a way that the cap is or can be moved relative to the engaging element during the removal from the injection device.

An injection device provides a casing which accommodates or forms a reservoir for a liquid drug; a plunger rod which can move relative to the casing in an axially forward direction to deliver the drug; a dosing means which can move in the forward direction relative to the casing to prime the reservoir and which can rotate relative to the casing for selecting a dose to be injected, wherein rotation of the dosing means relative to the casing is prevented until a priming operation for priming the reservoir is completed; d) wherein the dosing means comprises a dosing control means which is configured to enable rotation of the dosing means at the end of the priming stroke for selecting the dose and to prevent a rotation of the dosing means back into the position which the dosing means had at the end of the priming stroke relative to the casing.

Medication dispensing apparatuses for dosing-up and delivering a pre-set dosage of a fluid product include a housing; a dosing element moveable relative to the housing between a starting position and a dosed-up position; a drive system coupled to the dosing element operable to initiate or perform a dispensing operation; and a sub-dose preventing system for preventing or blocking a dispensing operation of the drive system when the dosing element has not reached the dosed-up position and for allowing or unblocking a dispensing operation of the drive system when or after the dosing element has reached the dosed-up position, wherein the sub-dose preventing system is operable to block a rotational movement in a circumferential direction of the medication dispensing apparatus of a drive element of the drive system corresponding to a dispensing direction or a dial-down direction when preventing or blocking the dispensing operation of the drive system.

A spring assembly for an administering device includes a driving spring configured as a spiral spring and a spring shaft. An inner end of the spring is rotationally fixedly attached to the spring shaft. A spring sleeve extends around the circumferential region of the spring, wherein the outer end of the spring is connected to the spring sleeve in a rotationally fixed manner and a disk-type spring-sleeve cover is attached to the spring sleeve or the spring shaft. The flange and the spring-sleeve cover extend radially away from an axis of the spring shaft and the flange is arranged near a distal end of the spring shaft. A radial stop is arranged on the flange periphery, and a blocking element is arranged on the spring sleeve to be complementary to the radial stop for releasably rotationally securing to each other when the blocking element and the radial stop engage.
