A carder has a drum formed as a hollow cylinder having a drum wall, a longitudinal axis, a circumference, an outer surface, a length, and a clothing provided on the outer surface. Working elements are arranged relative to the outer surface of the drum. Stub axles or a continuous axle is formed along the longitudinal axis of the drum and connected to the drum wall by spokes or disks. One or more acceleration sensors that measures structure-borne sound are mounted on one or more of: a side of the drum wall facing the longitudinal axis, the stub axles, the continuous axle, the spoked, or the disks within the length of the drum.

Carder

A carder includes a machine frame, a controller, and a drum provided with a clothing on an outer surface thereof. Working elements are disposed relative to the outer surface of the drum. The drum includes two stub axles or a continuous axial along a longitudinal axis thereof, the continuous axle having a first end and an opposite second end and each of the stub axles having an outer end face. An acceleration sensor that measures structure-borne sound is mounted on the end face of at least one of the stub axles or on the first end of the continuous axle.

A cleaning element to be fastened on a cylindrical basic body has a longitudinal axis and is designed as a cylindrical hollow element and comprises a skeleton and a spiked lattice stretched on the skeleton. The skeleton is connected to the spiked lattice by means of a rubber sealing compound, and an inner surface of the cleaning element facing the longitudinal axis is formed by the skeleton or the rubber sealing compound. The skeleton is formed by support rings which are arranged at certain intervals concentric with the longitudinal axis and which are held by means of one or more webs extending in the direction of the longitudinal axis.

A drive belt assembly for a revolving flat card includes a flexible belt. At least a pair of connecting elements are integrally formed with the belt. The present invention relates to the application of fiber length measurement in the blowroom or carding room of a spinning mill. A method and an apparatus in a textile processing machine are described in which before and/or after a working element of the textile processing machine the nep count and/or the fiber length (staple) is determined, with an open-loop/closed-loop control unit being provided which receives the values for the fiber length and/or the nep count as input and determines therefrom the optimized machine setting data and outputs the same to at least one actuator of a working element which influences the nep count and/or the staple of the textile processing machine.

Method and apparatus for fiber length measurement

A grinding device for the flats of a card comprises elastically bendable elements which enter between the card clothing points, brush across the lateral surface of the points and thus grind them, whereat the material that has been ground off is removed by a suction means. The grinding device may be portable so as to be used on different card machines. A control system may be provided to engage and operate the device in an interrmitten manner.

In a plant for processing textile fibers, the fine cleaning is effected at a point at which the stream of fiber material already has been subdivided (e.g. for the subsequent carding process), e.g. in the card filling chute. The cleaning device comprises at least one separating element arranged above the transporting roll. The trash eliminating system includes a system for eliminating material separated from the zone of the roll.

Fiber flock cleaner

In a fiber processing machine with a separating edge in which fibers as well as air are guided in a substantially predetermined transporting direction past the edge, trash particles are selectively removed from the fiber/air stream with the help of the edge. The adjustment of a separating element, in particular, the setting of the angular position of a separating surface and/or the penetration depth upstream from the separating surface is linked with an adaptation of the width of the eliminating gap. Also, at least one measure can be taken for eliminating, as far as possible, a pressure drop and/or air turbulences downstream (in the transporting direction) from the edge. Downstream from the edge, a flow pattern as laminar as possible is generated or maintained, respectively.

A grinding apparatus for the flats of a card comprises elastically bendable elements which penetrate between the points of the flat clothing sweep along the lateral flanks of the flat clothing wires and grind the points in the process.

Apparatus for grinding clothing of a textile machine

The carding distance (KA) between clothings (14, 15) is scanned using an optical device (22, 26) e.g. using a laser beam (24) from the side of the working area. The measuring value thus obtained can be compared to a pre-set target value in such a manner that the distance mentioned can be adjusted. Card with a controllable actuator system (32, 34) for setting the carding gap between the clothing on the main drum and the clothing on the flats, and with a programmable control system (12) which can influence the actuator system. A sensor system (26, 28) measures the carding gap in order to render regulation of the gap possible. The control system obtains, and processes respectively, data connected with the state of the clothing. The control system (12) is programmed in such a manner that regulation is effected as long as the measuring values supplied by the sensor system appear to be 'plausible'. If the plausibility no longer is ensured, the control system can deactivate the regulation steps and possibly can itself take over the adjustment process.
