An electromagnetic actuator comprises two units, which, upon electromagnetic interaction, are configured to cause a guided movement relative to each other in translational and rotational directions with a bearing gap in between. The electromagnetic actuator is configured to supply compressed gas to the bearing gap to create a film of gas between the units constituting a frictionless floating bearing.

Electromagnetic actuator

A drive system as disclosed includes an input shaft, an output shaft, and at least two coupling elements respectively coupled to the input shaft and the output shaft. In order to absorb assembly and manufacturing tolerances with respect to the shafts, the coupling elements and their attachment to the shafts and thereby prevent jamming of the drive system, at least one coupling element has an elastically deformable section, the elastically deformable section having a different material or a different cross-section than an adjacent section of the coupling element.

Drive system

A 6-axis positioning system, comprising a base, a movable unit and six variable-length actuators, one end of each actuator being connected to the base and the other end of each actuator being connected to the movable unit. At least one additional variable-length component is provided, one end of which is connected to the base and the other end of which is connected to the movable unit. The 6-axis positioning system can be releasably locked at least in certain positions of the movable unit by means of this additional component. The additional component has a releasable locking brake, and the variable-length component is designed such that its length can be varied passively by means of the movement of the six driven actuators.

A 6-axis positioning system features a base, a movable unit, and six variable-length actuators divided into two groups of three actuators each. The actuators of the first group are positioned within a region bounded by the second group on both the base and the movable unit. Each end of the actuators is connected via pivot fastening systems, allowing precise movement. Specifically, the first group's actuators can move within an angular range of ±30° relative to a virtual line running perpendicular from the base, while the second group's actuators can move within an angular range of 0° to 45° relative to a plane spanned by the base. This arrangement ensures a compact, precise, and flexible positioning system, ideal for applications requiring high accuracy and load-bearing capacity.

Compact 6-axis positioning system

A positioning device is disclosed which can include a base and a positioning element, which is configured to be adjusted with respect to six degrees of freedom relative to the base, wherein the positioning element is coupled to the base via at least three pairs of length-variable and electrically driven leg elements, and each leg element is connected, at its respective ends, to the base and the positioning element via an articulation element. A respective pair of legs projects through another pair of legs and each pair of legs is arranged perpendicular to the respective other pairs of legs. According to exemplary embodiments, each of the articulation elements associated with a leg element has only two axes of rotation (DA), which are arranged perpendicular to each other, so that the articulation elements allow pivotal movements of each respective leg element in precisely two planes that are perpendicular to each other and run through a longitudinal axis of the leg element, and at the same time prevent a rotational movement about a longitudinal axis of the leg element.

Positioning device

A high-resolution positioning device has a stator and a rotor, a coil array, arranged on the stator, and having at least three groups of flat coils, wherein each group has at least two single coils and the coil array encloses a free space on the stator, also having permanent magnetically-excited circuits that are situated on, against or in the rotor and form a magnet array which likewise encloses a free space, wherein the free spaces accommodate a position measuring system which has a measuring head having sensors, and an area scale. The device is in the form of a freely suspended, magnetically controlled six-dimensional drive, wherein the measuring head is situated in the coil array free space and the area scale is situated in the magnet array free space, and the rotor is free of drive-related electrical or electronic and, in this regard, live parts.
