The invention concerns a ventilating device for a motor vehicle fuel tank, wherein a valve (,) is provided with a counter-weight (,) which, when the vehicle is not running in a substantially horizontal position, causes the valve (,) to be closed, and which, when the vehicle is running, causes the valve (,) to open. The invention is characterised in that the counter-weight (,) is supported on the upper concave surface (,) of a spring retainer (,) whereof one lower surface comprises means for closing the valve (,), and when the counter-weight (,) is spaced from its stable equilibrium position by vibrations, it makes the spring retainer (,) tilt so as to cause the valve (,) to be opened.

A filler head for a motor vehicle fuel tank filling pipe has a bowl-shaped body, the upper face of which includes a filling orifice. A shut-off valve is pivoted to the bowl of the body between a rest position, towards which it is resiliently biassed and in which it closes off the filling orifice, and a withdrawn position in which it lies within the bowl and in which the filling orifice is open. The valve is put into its withdrawn position by a filling nozzle when the latter is introduced into the filling orifice. The filler head has automatic locking means for locking the shut-off valve in its rest or closed position, with these locking means comprising an unlocking control member.

A lock assembly comprises a stator, a rotor pivoting in a bore in the stator and a plurality of stator piston/rotor piston pairings which are resiliently urged towards a key channel provided axially in the said rotor for receiving a coded key slidable in said channel and having flats each of which cooperates with one of the said pairings in order to displace the latter against the action of the said resilient means so that the generatrix of separation between each rotor piston and each stator piston of one pairing is at a tangent to the said rotor. The pairs of stator pistons and rotor pistons and their resilient restoring means are preassembled each in a radial bore in the stator. The radial bores are distributed angularly about the axis of the lock in at least one diametrical plane and are closed at their inner end by an abutment which is moved aside during insertion of the rotor. The rotor comprises resilient displaceable abutment means for engagement with said stator to prevent axial movement of the rotor in relation to the stator after entry of said rotor into the stator bore.
