A mooring buoy system releasably connects risers and anchor lines to a turret of a floating structure, and includes: a buoyant body carrying the risers, which extend to a subsea hydrocarbon well; anchor line connectors, for connecting anchor lines to the buoyant body, each anchor line having one end connected to a connector and the opposing end to the seabed; and a reconnection wire running through a channel coinciding with a center line of the buoyant body, connectable to each anchor line below the buoyant body at some distance from the anchor line connectors through anchor line connection sections on one end and includes a stopper and winch wire connection arrangement on the other end. Also disclosed is a method for pulling up risers and anchor lines, for releasably attaching the risers and anchor lines, as well as a method for constructing a mooring buoy.

Disclosed is a floating wind turbine assembly, including a floating platform and a wind turbine arranged on top of the floating platform, the wind turbine having a mast with a mast axis, of which a lower end is connected to the floating platform, and a nacelle arranged on top of the mast, wherein the floating platform is connected to a seafloor with a plurality of tensioned mooring lines, wherein the mooring lines each include a mooring line axis extending in a longitudinal direction of the mooring line, wherein the mooring line axes intersect each other at a crossing position on the mast axis and at an elevation level at or above the nacelle, as well as a method for mooring such a floating wind turbine assembly.

A mooring assembly includes: a mooring buoy having a central axis, an upper ring portion providing an upper abutment surface; a mooring structure including a cavity with a wall receiving the mooring buoy; and a buoy locking system near the cavity engaging with the upper ring portion for locking the mooring buoy to the turret mooring structure and including at least two locking devices attached to the mooring structure, each locking device having a locking dog connected to a force member for axial displacement and exerting an upward force on the upper abutment surface. The mooring buoy includes a lower abutment surface. The locking system includes an engagement member below the locking dog, engaging with the lower abutment surface and exerting a downward force. The buoy at positions axially above the upper abutment surface situated at an axial clearance from the cavity wall.

Disconnectable submerged buoy mooring device comprising clamping dogs

Turret mooring system for receiving a mooring buoy, includes a turret mooring structure, and a buoy locking system for locking the mooring buoy, whereby the turret mooring system includes an intermediate connection member, which includes the buoy locking system. The intermediate connection member is rotatably suspended from the turret mooring structure. A method of mooring a vessel, including a turret mooring system, is described whereby the turret mooring system is arranged to receive the mooring buoy. The turret mooring system includes a turret mooring structure that is rotatably suspended from the vessel and an intermediate connection member that is rotatably suspended from the turret mooring structure. The method includes the steps of receiving the mooring buoy into the turret mooring system, locking the mooring buoy to the intermediate connection member, and rotating the intermediate connection member and the turret mooring structure with respect to each other.

Disconnectable turret mooring system

A disconnectable turret mooring system includes a mooring buoy, a turret structure, and a buoy locking system for locking the mooring buoy to the turret structure, whereby the turret structure includes an intermediate connection member, which includes the buoy locking system, wherein the intermediate connection member is rotatably supported by the turret structure. A method of mooring a vessel includes a turret structure to a mooring buoy, whereby the turret structure is arranged to receive the mooring buoy. The turret mooring system includes a turret structure that is rotatably supported by the vessel and an intermediate connection member that is rotatably supported by the turret structure. The method includes: receiving the mooring buoy into the turret structure, locking the mooring buoy to the intermediate connection member, and rotating the intermediate connection member and the turret structure with respect to each other.

A chain connector for holding a chain () that moors a vessel to the sea floor under perhaps 2000 tons tension, which can be quickly disconnected in an emergency by applying a moderate disconnecting force such as 50 tons. The chain is hold by ratchets () that are mounted on arms (). The arms have upper ends () that am pivotally mounted on a housing () and have free lower ends (), with the lower ends being held by cams () on locking dogs () that have locking dog lower ends () pivotally mounted on the housing and free upper ends (). A hydraulic actuator () has pins () that engage the upper ends of the locking dogs to prevent the arms and dogs from pivoting apart until the looking dog upper ends () are raised.

Chain connector

A mooring leg connector for use with a mooring leg extending up from the sea floor to connect a floating structure to be moored to the seabed wherein disconnection and connection of the mooring leg is done by pulling in and out a connector elongated body extending in the mooring leg direction. The connector has a latch mechanism for fixation of the mooring leg to the floating structure to be moored and preventing movement in the direction of the seabed, and a flexible part with a double articulation axis located at the bottom of the connector body above the attachment member, the connector body being received in a housing which is fixed to a part of the structure to be moored, wherein the latch mechanism includes guiding elements and followers or orientation pins between the body of the connector and the housing.

Disconnectable chain connector

A vessel includes a hull, a shaft extending from an upper part of the hull to a bottom of the hull, a turret being rotatably supported in the shaft via a turret bearing, a manifold support structure carrying one or more conduits being rotatably supported on the turret via a manifold bearing. The turret includes a cavity for receiving a mooring buoy carrying one or more risers and one or more vertically displaceable actuation members near the manifold bearing for vertically displacing the manifold support structure relative to the turret between a rotational position in which the manifold support structure can rotate relative to the turret via the manifold bearing and a locked position in which the bearing support structure is rotationally locked relative to the turret.

Disconnectable turret mooring system with a rotatable turn table

A system is described for use at offshore locations of large depth, for mooring a production vessel or floating unit () at a location over a hydrocarbon reservoir () and for connecting risers () that can be carrying hydrocarbons up from the sea floor to a production vessel that stores the hydrocarbons, flowlines for water injection, gas lift, gas export, umbilicals and mooring lines that moor the vessel. Both the mooring lines and the risers are disconnectably connected to the vessel though a connection buoy, or connector (). The invention concerns a system that allows a connector () to be used that is of minimum mass and volume, to ease its handling especially during its connection and disconnection to and from a vessel.

Disconnectable riser-mooring system

The invention relates to a mooring buoy (), comprising a submerged part () and a part extending above water level (). The part above water level comprising a fluid outlet duct () for attaching to a vessel (), the buoy being anchored to the seabed via substantially taut anchor legs (). A substantially horizontally oriented fluid transfer duct () being attached to a connector () of the buoy in a non-rigid manner. The buoy comprises a substantially vertical fluid duct () between the connector () and the outlet duct () and a mooring connector () for attaching to a mooring line () of the vessel, wherein the length (L) of the buoy is between 20 m and 70 m and the ratio of the diameter (D) of the lower part () of the buoy and the length (L) being below 0.3, preferably below 0.2.
