An eyewear assembly includes an outer first frame, at least one outer first lens, an inner second frame, and at least one inner second lens. The assembly includes a mechanism for holding the first frame and first lens in front of a user's face. The second frame has a mechanism for attachment to the first frame, to hold the second frame between the user's eyes and the first lens. The at least one second lens is carried by the second frame. The mechanism for attachment comprises a tab extending vertically on one of the first frame or the second frame and an aperture on the respective other of the first frame or the second frame for receiving said tab. The first frame includes a central elevated vent to distribute air over top vent openings of the first frame. Grip warts are provided on the first frame for gripping and manipulation by the user.

A helmet having a helmet shell including cooperating first and second sections in slidable engagement with one another, at least one locking assembly inter-connecting the first and second sections, the locking assembly including a pivoting member pivotable between a locked position and an unlocked position, the pivoting member in the locked position pressing the shell sections against one another such as to prevent a relative sliding motion therebetween, the pivoting member in the unlocked position allowing the relative sliding motion, and at least one engagement member connected to the first shell section and removably engaging the pivoting member in the locked position to prevent accidental movement of the pivoting member toward the unlocked position.

An apparatus for optical imaging of a breast is described, the apparatus comprising: a supporting platform for positioning a patient in a face down prone position, the platform having a cavity for the breast to be pendantly suspended therethrough; a flexible fluid-filled receptacle below the cavity holding an optical matching fluid for the optical imaging, wherein the breast is immersed in the fluid during the optical imaging; a supporting mechanism surrounding a perimeter of the receptacle for supporting the receptacle within the cavity and preventing it from falling through the cavity when holding the optical matching fluid; and a source and detector coupling device for orienting source and detector ports with respect to the receptacle and for contacting the receptacle to obtain a desired geometry of the breast and the optical matching fluid.

There is provided a table for positioning a patient for a medical procedure on a breast, the table comprising: a solid frame surrounding a perimeter of the table; and a membrane-like contour surface for a surrounding breast area, wherein the surface comprises an aperture for the breast to be pendantly suspended therethrough, and the surface is adjusted to a shape of the patient's body. Preferably, the membrane-like contour surface covers the entire surface area of the table. Alternatively, it can be limited to a section that will cover an area from approximately the bottom of the rib cage to the collar bone when the patient is lying face down on the table.

There is provided a table for positioning a patient for a medical procedure on a breast, the table comprising: a supporting platform having a back end for supporting the patient's legs and a front end for supporting the patient's torso while the patient is in a prone position, and a cavity at the front end for allowing the breast and a surrounding axilla region to be pendantly suspended therethrough; wherein the table has a lateral depression for allowing an arm and a shoulder adjacent to the breast to extend over the table and be lowered such that skin from the axilla region is relaxed and extends through the cavity, and the table is configured to provide the depression on each side of the cavity in a position where a right shoulder would be when a right breast.

An eye protection transparent shield for use with a headgear. The shield comprises a visor of transparent material and having opposed side connecting portions for pivotal securement to the headgear. The visor has an eye viewing portion and a nose support piece. A pivotal locking mechanism attaches each of the opposed side connecting portions to the headgear. The pivotal locking mechanism has a pivot connection and a guide mechanism for displacing the visor from a position of use, in front of the wearer's eyes, to a position of non-use above the wearer's eyes. The visor is arrested at both positions by a resiliently biased element which also applies a continuous retention force.
