A heat removal assembly for use with a power converter that includes a condenser and an evaporator coupled in flow communication with the condenser. The evaporator is configured to channel working fluid therebetween. The evaporator includes a supply housing, a receiving housing, and at least one expansion housing extending between the supply housing and the receiving housing. The at least one expansion housing includes a flow inlet defined at the supply housing and a flow outlet defined at said receiving housing, and the flow inlet is sized smaller in cross-sectional size than the flow outlet.

Heat removal assembly for use with a power converter

A wind power generator with a closed internal cooling circuit has a stator that is implemented as sheet metal and includes a winding system which forms winding heads at the end faces of the stator. The stator is enclosed by a cooling jacket at least in the region of the laminated core, wherein permanent magnets of a rotor are disposed on a magnet wheel jacket embodied as a hollow shaft. The magnet wheel jacket is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to a shaft or shaft stubs by way of support elements at its end faces, wherein in its interior the hollow shaft has at least one tube whose lateral surface area runs at an equidistant clearance from the magnet wheel jacket. Blowers are mounted at the end faces of the rotor.

Wind power generator with internal cooling circuit

A rotor for an electrical machine includes a first shaft part and a second shaft part, which is arranged separately from the first shaft part. A first supporting element is connected in a manner fixed against rotation to the first shaft part, and a second supporting element is connected in a manner fixed against rotation to the second shaft part. The rotor has a yoke which connects the first supporting element to the second supporting element and includes a plurality of laminates arranged one behind the other, and which has cutouts extending in the direction of the axis of rotation in the interior of the yoke, and permanent magnets arranged in the cutouts. The yoke has holes extending in the direction of the axis of rotation, with tensioning pins extending through the holes in the yoke to brace the laminates.

Rotor of reduced weight for an electric machine

A shock-proof electric marine engine, e.g. an engine or generator, is for a marine (Navy) ship, and includes a stator and a rotor in a housing. The stator and the rotor are connected in such a way that they are rotatably displaceable in a counter direction and in a radial/axial manner with limited slack. The rotor and stator form a displaceable unit in relation to the housing, which can be displaced away from the housing with a higher vibration overshoot range. The housing is elastically connected to the marine (navy) ship.

Shock-proof electric marine engine, e.g. engine or generator

In a rotating electrical machine having a permanent-magnet rotor, the tubular, highly thermally conductive supporting body of the stator forms a thermal bridge to a cooling means. In order to allow the end windings of the stator windings to be cooled effectively as well, the end windings also each have an associated thermal bridge, which completely fills the space between the end windings and the supporting body of the stator. This thermal bridge is of solid construction having a solid ring, which is connected to the supporting body of the stator with a force fit, and a cast-resin body which is cast into this solid ring. The cast-resin body has a thermal conductivity of more than 1.6 W/mK and, for this purpose, contains a powdery, highly thermally conductive filler making up a proportion of 50 to 90% by weight, preferably an aluminum nitride coated with silicon dioxide.

Rotating electrical machine having a permanent-magnet rotor

An electric propulsion pod for a ship having a electric propulsion pod heat rejection member. The electric propulsion pod is attached below the ship by a hollow ship access shaft. The electric propulsion pod contains an electric motor for producing a water propulsion. The electric motor generates an amount of heat that is conducted and subsequently released into the water through the electric propulsion pod and ship access shaft surfaces. The heat rejection member is fitted for increasing the conduction and subsequent release of the electric motor heat.

To improve the propulsion efficiency of a ship propulsion having a housing to be arranged on the bottom of the hull in a gondola-like manner, with a synchronous motor in the housing, at propulsion powers of approximately 10 MW, the rotor of the synchronous motor is designed as a permanent-magnet rotor, and the stator of the synchronous motor is fitted into the housing in a form-fitting manner to be cooled through the housing wall. An additional cooling device in the form of a fan or a spray device may be provided for each winding overhang.
