A method for controlling the operation of a generator connected to an electrical energy storage unit in a vehicle power train. An engine is connected to a drive shaft of the vehicle through a transmission and with an interrupting device with which the transmission of torque from the engine to the drive shaft is interruptible. When the transmission of torque between the engine and the drive shaft is interrupted the generator is driven from the drive shaft.

A power-split transmission having several ranges of transmission ratios with continuously variable speed reductions. In the fluid control system, a valve is used whose opening cross-section is controlled according to the one differential pressure. In order to oil the conical discs, injection holes of an injection tube are used that passes through a slot provided in a slide rail resting against a strand of a flexible torque transmitting member of a conical disc flexible drive.

A method for regulating or controlling the transmission ratio of an automatic power-branched transmission. Power is transmitted through a shaft driven by an engine, a variable speed drive, a gear transmission, a driven shaft, and at least two control clutches. The variable speed drive and the gear transmission are connected to each other in such a way that the regulating range of the variable speed drive is traversed in one direction within a first range of transmission ratios, and is traversed in the opposite direction within a second range of transmission ratios during traversing of the entire range of transmission ratios. The shifting strategies result in reduced wear of the endless belt device and allow for comfortable changing between the transmission ratio ranges.

A method and a system for reducing a jerk produced by the range shift of a transmission with a power division arrangement. The transmission includes a variable speed drive in the form of a continuously variable transmission, and a pair of planetary gear sets and a pair of shift clutches to enable power to be divided between two branches within the transmission. During a range shift between two operating ranges the variable speed drive is acted upon by a short-term transmission ratio adjustment impulse in such a way that a cancellation jerk caused thereby the adjustment impulse weakens the jerk caused by the range shift.

Method and system for the reduction of the jerk caused by range shifting of a CVT transmission with power division

A branched power transmission having several transmission ratio ranges with a steplessly adjustable transmission ratio. A drive shaft is connected to both shafts of a variable speed unit through a distributor transmission, which shafts in turn are connected with the input shafts of a parallel gearbox through respective clutches. Two transmission ratio ranges differ from each other through the transmission ratio of an input shaft of the parallel gearbox and its output shaft. Additionally, the power-producing transmission can include an electrical machine. A further embodiment includes a variable speed unit, a first planetary transmission connected with a drive shaft, the input shaft of the variable speed unit and a connecting shaft, and a second planetary transmission that is connected with the connecting shaft of the output shaft of the variable speed unit and an output shaft, and an electrical machine that is non-rotatably connected with the connecting shaft.

Transmission with a steplessly adjustable transmission ratio, with or without branched power and with or without an electrical machine

A power-branched transmission having a steplessly adjustable transmission ratio. An input-side distributor transmission includes an input gear that is nonrotatably connected with an input shaft coupled to an engine. The power-branched transmission includes an output shaft and two clutches. The input gear of the distributor transmission is rotatably coupled with an input shaft of a variable speed drive unit. An output gear of the distributor transmission is rotatably engaged with an intermediate shaft that is arranged in a functionally parallel manner relative to the variable speed drive unit and is rotatably engaged with an output shaft of the variable speed drive unit. The intermediate shaft is operatively coupled with the output shaft through a first clutch and the input shaft of the variable speed drive unit is operatively coupled with the output shaft through a second clutch.

Power-branched transmission with steplessly adjustable transmission ratio

A target engine rotational speed depending at least upon the position of an accelerator pedal position and a motor vehicle speed is determined in a method for controlling the operation of a motor vehicle drive train having a drive motor and a branched power transmission with several steplessly adjustable transmission ratio regions, between which shifting takes place at a predetermined range shift transmission ratio. A transmission ratio corresponding to the target engine rotational speed and vehicle speed is determined and set, whereby the change with respect to time of the accelerator pedal position and/or the change with respect to time of the target engine rotational speed is used for determining the target engine rotational speed and is filtered when a difference between the actual transmission ratio and a transmission ratio shift range falls below a limit value.
