The invention relates to a disc brake, comprising a brake carrier, a brake caliper, brake shoes, and an actuating piston. The brake carrier has at least one mounting point for mounting on a vehicle. The actuating piston is displaceably accommodated on the brake caliper and is actuatable for carrying out a service brake function of the disc brake. At least one further actuating piston is provided, which in the direction of its longitudinal axis is displaceably accommodated on the brake caliper. For carrying out the service brake function, the at least two actuating pistons are actuatable, and for carrying out a parking brake function, one of the actuating pistons is actuatable. The invention further relates to a disc brake system and a parking brake system.

A brake caliper arrangement includes a housing, a restoring device, a first brake lining arrangement and a second brake lining arrangement. The first brake lining arrangement and the second brake lining arrangement can be moved relative to one another from a respective starting position with a reduction of an initial spacing which exists between them. The restoring device includes first and second restoring elements. The first restoring element may prestress the first brake lining arrangement into its starting position, while the second restoring element may prestress the second brake lining arrangement into its starting position. The first and/or second restoring elements may be supported, on both sides of a central region of the brake lining arrangement, on the associated brake lining arrangement. The first and/or second restoring elements may be twisted elastically at least in sections in order to generate the prestress.

A disc brake assembly having a guide pin disposed in a bore of an anchor bracket such that a guide pin axis is offset relative to a bore axis whereby there is provided at least one defined point of contact between only a portion of the guide pin and a portion of an inner surface of the bore. The guide pin includes a groove formed therein, the groove defines a groove axis which is offset relative to the guide pin axis, and a resilient member is disposed in the groove which is operative to bias the guide pin in the bore such that the guide pin axis is offset relative to bore axis to provide the at least one defined point of contact between only a portion of the guide pin and a portion of the inner surface of the bore.

A disc brake comprises a brake carrier, which is fastenable to the vehicle and is provided with bolts at the leading side and at the trailing side of the brake, which during braking take up the forces acting upon the brake linings. The relative dimensions and arrangements of the bolts and of the brake lining are such that, upon introduction of a brake force that is capable of decelerating the vehicle up to a maximum value in the region of 0.1 g, only tensile forces act upon the brake lining.

A disc brake has a brake carrier () with at least two bolts () which stand axially to the brake disc for guiding a brake lining (). The plane (P) spanned by the bolt axes has a smaller radial distance (D) from the disc axis (A) than the centroid of the friction lining.

A disc brake having a brake carrier () which may be fastened to the vehicle and to which bolts are fastened, comprises brake pads (), in the supporting plates of which U-shaped recesses (') are formed, which are placed onto the bolts, such that the brake pads are axially movably guided relative to the brake disc.

The invention further relates to a brake shoe which is suitable for the previously described disk brake.

Disk brake and brake lining for same

The brake has a carrier member (12) comprising a fastening portion (14) for mounting near a brake disc (10) and a centrally disposed bridging portion (16) extending across the brake disc (10), as well as a floating caliper (30) which straddles part of the brake disc (10) and the carrier member (12) as well as the brake pads (40,42). A pair of actuating cylinders (36) are disposed at least approximately symmetrically with respect to an axial center plane (D) of the carrier member (12), at the floating caliper (30). At each side of the brake disc (10) there are two separate brake pads (40, 42) adapted to be disassembled past the bridging portion (16) substantially radially with respect to the brake disc (10) when the brake is in its installed position. The floating caliper (30) is guided at the fastening portion (14) on two pins (26,28) located in the center plane (D) of the carrier member (12) and, in addition, directly at a guide member (34) formed at the bridging portion (16) beyond the brake disc (10), as seen from the fastening portion (14).

Spot type disc brake

A self-retracting brake pad assembly has a pair of lateral faces each of which having at least a portion supportable at a carrying brake member e.g. a brake carrier. A recess is located close to the middle of each of the two lateral faces. A return spring assembly comprises a pair of guide members each received in one of the recesses and spring arms protrude laterally from one end of each guide member. The spring arms are supportable in the carrying brake member, and elastically deformable into a final position by an extent determining the brake clearance. The guide members are clamped in the respective recess and displaceable in the same only when overcoming frictional resistance greater than the return force of the spring arms in the final position thereof.
