The invention relates to a multilayer blown film for producing labels, having a layer construction formed by coextrusion. In accordance with the invention, the layer construction comprises two outer layers of polyethylene, a core layer of polyethylene, and, on either side of the core layer, an interlayer of polypropylene with a melt flow index of more than 4.0 g/10 min as measured to ISO 1133 at 230&#xb0; C. with 2.16 kg.

Multilayer blown film for producing labels

A label film is formed by means of extrusion and has a layer that forms the surface, on a first side, composed of polyethylene with a proportion of at least 70 wt.-%, preferably at least 85 wt.-% high-density polyethylene, wherein the film thickness amounts to less than 75 &#x3bc;m. According to the invention, the 60&#xb0; reflectometer value on at least the first side of the label film, determined according to DIN 67 530, is greater than 80, preferably greater than 90.

Film laminates as high barrier films and their use in vacuum insulation panels

Described is a method of treating or coating homogeneously at least a portion of the surface of a material selected from metallic materials having a thickness of less than 100 &mgr;m and/or polymeric materials. The method of the present invention comprises exposing at least a portion of the surface of the material to an atmospheric plasma generated by an indirect plasmatron. In the method of the present invention, the surface of the material may undergo at least one of an increase in surface tension, a surface grafting, a surface cleaning and a surface sterilization.

Method of surface treating or coating of materials

Sheet-like structures obtainable by thermal curing and having a crosslinked cholesteric liquid crystalline ordered structure are suitable, for example, for decorative coatings, for producing security marks, pigmentary particles, polarizers, color filters and IR reflectors.

Described is a multilayer film laminate having at least three layers, and gas barrier properties. The multilayer film laminate comprises sequentially: (I) at least two first layers, each of the first layers (I) having, on one side only, a vapor deposited coating selected independently from the group consisting of aluminum, SiOx and a metal oxide of main group 2 or 3 of the periodic table of the elements; and (II) an exterior polyolefin heat sealing layer. Also described is a method of using the multilayer film laminate as a barrier film in vacuum insulation panels.

Multilayer film laminates

Described is a process for the homogeneous surface activation of a material in web form, by means of plasma-treatment. The material in web form is selected from metallic materials in web form having a thickness of less than 100 &mgr;m, polymeric materials in web form and combinations thereof. The process involves treating homogeneously at least a portion of the surface of the material in web form, which is moved over at least one pair of rolls, with an atmospheric plasma, optionally in the presence of a process gas and/or a process aerosol. The atmospheric plasma is generated by an indirect plasmatron.

Process for the surface activation of materials

An optionally laminated film of plastics is described, characterised in that the film is printed on one side with a security ink. A process for the production of such a film and the use thereof as a packaging material are also described.

A plastic film comprising a plastic resin having imprinted on one of its surfaces a microtyped marking is disclosed. The film, optionally in the form of a laminate with a film of polymeric material, paper or metal foil is useful as packaging material.
