A method for operating a braking system of a vehicle includes: establishing a first setpoint brake pressure to be set in a first wheel brake cylinder of a first brake circuit and a second setpoint brake pressure to be set in a second wheel brake cylinder of a second brake circuit; reducing first and second actual brake pressures by setting a master brake cylinder pressure to be no greater than a minimum of the first and second setpoint brake pressures, and controlling a first switchover valve of the first brake circuit and/or of the second brake circuit; and/or increasing the first and second actual brake pressures by setting the master brake cylinder pressure to be no smaller than a maximum of the first and second setpoint brake pressures, and activating a first wheel inlet valve of the first brake circuit and/or of the second brake circuit.

The invention relates to a packaging machine for closing a container having a lid, which includes a supply unit for delivering the container along with a loosely seated lid. A rotating crimping head is provided with a plurality of recesses for one container each, a plurality of tensioning units each hold a container into a recess, and a crimping unit crimps the lids onto the container in order to close the container. A plurality of sensor units are provided such that one sensor unit is arranged on each tensioning unit. Each sensor unit records a container rotation and/or a container tensioning force in the crimping head. Each sensor unit has a transmitter to send signals and a control unit which has a receiver to receive signals sent from the transmitter.

The invention is directed to a method and an arrangement for monitoring the operation of a gas flow control element in an internal combustion engine. In this method, the engine rough running is detected and at least one rough-running signal is formed which represents the rough running of the engine. Then, by driving the gas flow control element, a change of the position of the gas flow control element is attempted. Then, a detection of the rough-running signals as a function of the change of the position of the gas flow control element takes place. The change of position is intended by the driving of the gas flow control element. From the above, a function signal can be derived which provides information as to the operation of the gas flow control element. The diagnosis of a gas flow control element by evaluation of the engine rough running in engine controls (which anyway have units for forming rough-running values) permits a diagnosis of the above kind without separate sensors for function monitoring. The method is suitable especially for monitoring the operation of swirl flaps.

An internal combustion engine is provided with an injection valve with which fuel can be injected directly into a combustion chamber either during a compression phase in a first operating mode or during an intake phase in a second operating mode. In addition, a control unit is provided for shifting between the two operating modes and for differentiated control and/or regulation of the performance quantities that influence the actual torque of the internal combustion engine as a function of a setpoint torque in both operating modes. A change in the actual torque during a shifting operation is determined by the control unit, and at least one of the performance quantities is influenced by the control unit as a function thereof.
