A piston coating is described that comprises a phenolic resin, at least one solid lubricant selected from among the group including graphite, MoS, WS, BN, and PTFE, as well as carbon fibers. Said coating has an advantageous wear resistance and an advantageous coefficient of friction.

The invention relates to a method for coating a metallic strip. The strip or optionally, the strip sections produced from said strip in the subsequent process, is/are first coated with at least one anticorrosion layer&#x2014;according to an alternative form of embodiment, this can be left out&#x2014;and then with at least one layer of a paint-like coating containing polymers. After being coated with at least one anticorrosion layer or after being coated with at least one layer of a paint-like coating, the strip is divided into strip sections. The coated strip sections are then formed, joined and/or coated with at least one (other) paint-like coating and/or paint coating. The paint-like coating is formed by coating the surface with an aqueous dispersion containing the following in addition to water: a) at least one organic film former containing at least one water-soluble or water-dispersed polymer with an acid value of 5 to 200; b) at least one inorganic compound in particle form with an average particle diameter measured on a scanning electron microscope of 0.005 to 0.3 &#x3bc;m; and c) at least one lubricant and/or at least one corrosion inhibitor. The metallic surface that is optionally coated with at least one anticorrosion layer is brought into contact with the aqueous composition and a film containing particles is formed on the metallic surface, this film then being dried and optionally also hardened, the dried and optionally, also hardened film having a layer thickness of 0.01 to 10 &#x3bc;m. The invention also relates to a corresponding aqueous composition.

The invention relates to a method for coating a metal surface with an aqueous composition, characterized in that the composition contains, in addition to water: a) at least one organic film former that contains at least one water-soluble or water-dispersible polymer with an acid number ranging from 5 to 200, b) at least one particulate inorganic compound with an average particle diameter measured by a scanning electron microscope in the range of from 0.005 to 0.3&#x3bc;, c) at least one slip additive and/or at least one corrosion inhibitor, d) optionally at least one organic solvent, e) optionally at least one silane and/or siloxane, f) optionally at least one cross-linking agent, and g) optionally at least one chromium (VI) compound. The invention relates to a method for treating metallic surfaces consisting of zinc, magnesium or aluminium or of the alloys of zinc, magnesium or aluminium, to which lacquer, coatings of plastic material, paint, sealants or adhesives are applied after treatment. The treatment of the metallic surfaces takes place at between 10&deg; C. and 100&deg; C. by immersion, spraying or rolling with an aqueous solution. The solution has a pH of between 2 and 13 and contains one or more compounds of the type XYZ at a concentration of between 10 and 1 mol/l. Y is an organic group containing between 2 and 50 C atoms and has a straight-chain structure. X is a COOH, HSO , HSO , (OH) PO, (OH) PO , (OH)(OR&prime;)PO or (OH)(OR&prime;)PO group. Z is a OH, SH, NH , NHR&prime;, CN, CH&boxH;CH , OCN, epoxy, CH &boxH;CR&Prime;&mdash;COO, acrylamide, COOH, (OH) PO, (OH) PO , (OH)(OR&prime;)PO or (OH)(OR&prime;)PO group. R&prime; is an alkyl group with between 1 and 4 C atoms. R&Prime; is an H atom or an alkyl group with between 1 and 4 C atoms. Groups X. and Z are each bonded to group Y in their final positions.
