Techniques are disclosed for facilitating providing of sensor capability in devices using device attachments. In one example, a sensor device includes an attachment body configured to be disposed along a side of a user device when the sensor device is coupled to the user device. The sensor device further includes an actuator configured to selectively apply a force. The sensor device further includes a connector block coupled to the actuator and configured to selectively extend from or retract into the attachment body in response to the force. The sensor device further includes a connector configured to couple to a connector port of the user device and provide data communication between the sensor device and the user device. The connector is at least partially disposed in the connector block. Related systems and devices are also provided.

Device attachment systems and methods to facilitate sensor capability in devices

Techniques are disclosed for facilitating image relay for wearable devices with thermal imaging devices attached thereto. In one example, a system includes an attachment configured to releasably couple to an exterior surface of a wearable apparatus. The attachment includes an infrared sensor assembly configured to capture a thermal image of a scene. The attachment further includes a display component configured to provide data indicative of the thermal image. The system further includes an optical relay component configured to couple to an interior surface of the wearable apparatus. The optical relay component is further configured to receive the data from the display component and relay the data within the wearable apparatus to facilitate presenting the data for viewing by a user while wearing the wearable apparatus. Image relay systems and methods for wearable apparatuses

Various techniques are disclosed to generate a contrast-enhanced combined image based on a thermal image and high spatial frequency content extracted from a visual light image, said images depicting the same scene. In one example, a method comprises: determining a blending measure indicating the quality of at least one of said images; combining luminance components of pixel values comprised in the thermal image and of pixel values representing high spatial frequency content comprised in the visual light image based on the blending measure; and generating a contrast-enhanced combined image based on the thermal image and the combined luminance components.
