The present invention relates to a floor treatment system, comprising a mobile floor treatment apparatus and a docking station therefor, wherein the floor treatment apparatus comprises a control device, at least one control line coupled thereto, and an electrical energy storage device for supplying energy to the floor treatment apparatus, and the docking station comprises at least one actuator and at least one control line coupled thereto; wherein, when the floor treatment apparatus is in a docked position on the docking station, the control lines are coupled to one another in contact-based manner by way of control line connection elements, wherein the floor treatment system comprises a detection device for determining whether the floor treatment apparatus is in the docked position, and wherein, if this is determined positively, at least one of the actuators of the control device is actuatable or controllable by way of the control lines. The present invention further relates to a method for operating such a floor treatment system.

The invention relates to a method for cleaning a floor surface with a floor cleaning device, in which method, during the cleaning movement of the floor cleaning device over the floor surface, a first recording of a floor surface portion before the cleaning is created with an optical recording unit, the floor cleaning device is moved with at least one cleaning unit over the floor surface portion, which is cleaned, a second recording of the floor surface portion after the cleaning is created with an optical recording unit and the recordings are compared with one another in order to check the cleaning result. A method for treating a floor surface is provided using a self-propelled and self-steering floor treating apparatus, wherein the treatment is based on a pattern along which the floor treating apparatus is moved, wherein the pattern has paths in side-by-side relationship to one another, and wherein when the floor treating apparatus travels a path, a respective treatment area is covered and treated. The pattern is adapted to at least one of the size and contour of the floor surface such that boundaries thereof opposite each other each have a path extending therealong with a treatment area adjacent to the boundary and intermediate paths are arranged such that full-coverage treatment of the floor surface is realized, wherein the relative position of at least two paths in side-by-side relationship is such that the treatment areas thereof at least partially overlap. A floor treatment apparatus for carrying out the method is also provided.

The invention relates to a cleaning apparatus, comprising an operating unit for operating the cleaning apparatus, at least one functional unit for carrying out an operating instruction, and a control unit for receiving operating instructions performed on the operating unit and controlling the at least one functional unit based on said operating instructions, wherein an access authorization stored on an authorization carrier is required in order to operate the cleaning apparatus. In order to provide such a cleaning apparatus with a more user-friendly access control, it is proposed that the cleaning apparatus have a detection unit operatively connected to the control unit and configured for contactless detection of the access authorization and transmission thereof to the control unit, and that the access authorization be verifiable for its validity by the control unit.
