An illumination system for a medical technology therapy and/or diagnosis system is provided. The system includes a light source, an optical waveguide, and an optical element in the form of a diffuser element. The optical waveguide has a first end that is connectable or assignable to the light source and the diffuser element is arranged at a second end of the optical waveguide so that light from the optical waveguide is injected into the optical element. The optical element has a lateral surface covered by a reflector layer at least in a section thereof. The reflector layer includes a mirror layer. The optical element has a light-reflecting area covered by the reflector layer and a light-transmissive area that is free of the reflector layer. Thus, light injected into the optical element is reflected on the light-reflecting area and emitted from the light-transmissive area.

Illumination systems with optical waveguide having diffuser elements

An optoelectrical guide/conductor system is provided that includes an optoelectrical guide/conductor arrangement and an at least regionally electrically conductive adapter sleeve. The arrangement has an optical waveguide with an outer, organic sheath layer and a conductive layer. The conductive layer is a single layer or a sequence of layers, which is directly or indirectly on the outer sheath layer. The sleeve mechanically embraces the arrangement and electrically contacts the conductive layer such that the adapter sleeve is insertable into a connection mount, arranged e.g. on a handpiece, for transmitting optical and/or electrical signals through the conductive layer.

Optoelectrical guide/conductor system with adapter sleeve

A substrate is provided with an abrasion resistance antireflection coating. The coated substrate includes a multilayer antireflection coating on at least one side. The coating has layers with different refractive indices, wherein higher refractive index layers alternate with lower refractive index layers. The layers having a lower refractive index are formed of silicon oxide with a proportion of aluminum, with a ratio of the amounts of aluminum to silicon is greater than 0.05, preferably greater than 0.08, but with the amount of silicon predominant relative to the amount of aluminum. The layers having a higher refractive index include a silicide, an oxide, or a nitride.

An optical-electrical conductor assembly is provided that includes an optical waveguide that has an outer organic jacket layer and a functional layer system disposed on the outer jacket layer of the optical waveguide. A protective glazing is provided that has long-term stability against degradation under high temperatures. The protective glazing includes a glass or glass ceramic pane having two opposite faces and being transparent in the visible spectral range and an infrared radiation reflecting coating on at least one of the faces. The coating includes a first layer on the face and a second layer deposited on the first layer. The first layer is a doped transparent conductive oxide and the second layer is an X-ray amorphous oxide layer or of a nitride layer.

Coated protective glazing

A fitout article or article of equipment for a kitchen or laboratory is provided. The article has a display device, a separating element, and a covering. The covering is on an interior side of the separating element and has a cutout at the separating element. The separating element has a light transmittance of at least 5% and at most 70%. The covering has light transmittance of at most 7% and a colour locus in the CIELAB colour space with coordinates L* of 20 to 40, a* of &#x2212;6 to 6 and b* of &#x2212;6 to 6, and the colour locus of D65 standard illuminant light, after passing through the substrate, is within a white region W1 determined in the chromaticity diagram CIExyY-2&#xb0; by the coordinates:

A cover panel for a fitout article or article of equipment for a kitchen or laboratory is provided. The cover panel includes a glass or glass ceramic substrate and a coating on one side of the substrate. The substrate and the coating together have a light transmittance of 1% to 70%. The coating has a colour locus in the CIELAB colour space within the range of coordinates L* of 20 to 65, a* of &#x2212;6 to 6 and b* of &#x2212;6 to 6. The colour locus of the D65 standard illuminant light, after passing through the substrate and the coating, is within a white region W1 determined in the chromaticity diagram CIExyY-2&#xb0; by the following coordinates: 

Cover panel with colour-neutral coating

An optical element is provided that includes a substrate that is transparent in the visible spectral region and a multilayer anti-reflection coating on the substrate. The coating has alternating layers of layers having a first refractive index and of layers having a second, higher refractive index. The layers having the higher refractive index contain nitride or oxynitride and the layers having the first refractive index contain oxide of silicon and of at least one other element. The molar fraction of silicon in the layers having the first refractive index is predominant when compared to the molar fraction(s) of the other element or elements. The uppermost layer of the coating is a layer having the first refractive index. A layer of chain-form organofluoro molecules is disposed on the coating, wherein the molecules are bonded at the ends to the surface of the optical element.

A scratch-resistant amorphous and transparent AlSiN cover layer on a glass or glass ceramic substrate is provided. The cover layer has a low surface roughness and has sliding properties with respect to pots and other items. The cover layer is transparent in the visible light range and also largely transparent in the infrared range and has good chemical resistance to salted water burn-in.

Scratch-resistant glass or glass ceramic articles

A substrate having a scratch resistance enhancing coating with improved cleanability and methods for producing such a coating are provided. The coating includes at least one high refractive index transparent hard material layer and includes aluminum nitride. The coating exhibits a contact angle for water of greater than 75&#xb0;.

The material includes a mixed oxide having a first metal selected from group 4 of the periodic table of elements and/or a second metal, and at least one further metal selected from group 11 of the periodic table of elements, wherein the macroscopic composition of the material given by the chemical formula corresponds to the composition of the material at a molecular level. A coating made of such a material is also provide, as is an article having such a coating, and a method for producing such a material.
