A hearing aid device is provided. The hearing aid device comprises: an input unit configured to receive an acoustical input and transform it into an electrical input signal; a signal transforming unit coupled to the input unit and configured to process the electrical input signal to obtain an electrical output signal; a stimulation unit configured to generate a stimulation signal for acoustic coordinated reset neuromodulation therapy; an output unit configured to transform at least one of the electrical output signal and the stimulation signal into an acoustical output.

Extended bandwidth hearing aid with dynamically adjustable sampling rate for power optimized deployment of coordinated reset (CR) neuromodulation for the treatment of subjective tonal tinnitus

Described and disclosed herein are various embodiments of systems, devices, components and methods configured to deliver a two-dimensional acoustic coordinated reset neuromodulation therapy to a patient's auditory cortex. A novel auditory stimulation regime is employed, where suitably configured therapeutic signals that take into account the patient's tinnitus frequency and periodicity are employed to excite areas surrounding the center of tinnitus excitation in the patient's auditory cortex.

Described and disclosed herein are various embodiments of systems, devices, components and methods configured to employ acoustic coordinated reset neuromodulation therapies that are capable of adjusting or modulating at least one of the intensity, auditory filter bandwidth, and center frequency of therapeutic stimulation signals delivered to an individual patient, where in one embodiment such signals are tuned to have intensities that are above or slightly above the individual patient's hearing threshold.

Adaptive stimulation tone adjustment for treating tinnitus in acoustic coordinated reset meuromodulation systems, devices, components and methods

A housing for a medical implant that includes a housing wall made of an electrically insulating material with an inner face and an outer face and an electrical transmission through the housing wall. The electrical transmission includes an electrically conductive first terminal contact surface disposed on the inner face of the housing wall, an electrically conductive second terminal contact surface disposed on the outer face of the housing wall, a capacitor integrated into the housing wall and that includes a first capacitor electrode and a second capacitor electrode, a first connection line that electrically connects the first terminal contact surface to the first capacitor electrode, and a second connection line that electrically connects the second terminal contact surface to the second capacitor electrode. No continuously electrically conductive connection exists between the first terminal contact surface and the second terminal contact surface.

Housing for a medical implant with an electrical transmission

A device and method for providing stimulation signals that reset the phase of the neuronal activity of neurons in a patient's brain. The device includes a control unit; and a stimulation unit that has a plurality of stimulation elements, and each stimulation element generates visual stimulation signals that reset the phase of the neuronal activity of the neurons when the signals are taken up via an eye of a patient and transmitted to neurons that are exhibiting a pathologically synchronous and oscillatory neuronal activity. The control unit is further capable of actuating the stimulation unit such that the stimulation elements generate the visual stimulation signals with a time offset in respect to one another and/or with differing phase and/or with differing polarity.

Device and method for visual stimulation

An apparatus () is described which comprises at least one measuring unit (-) for recording test signals from neurons, a generator unit () for generating electrical stimulation signals in accordance with the test signals, and a plurality of stimulation units (-) that are connected to the generator unit (). The stimulation units (-) stimulate a plurality of neural networks in a deferred manner by means of the stimulation signals and thus induce a deferred activity in the stimulated neural networks.

Apparatus for the stimulation of neural networks

A device for decoupling and/or desynchronizing neural, pathologically synchronous brain activity, in which, the activities in a partial region of a brain area or a functionally associated brain area are stimulated by means of an electrode, resulting in decoupling and desynchronizing the affected neuron population from the pathological area and suppression of the symptoms in a patient. In an alternative embodiment of the device, the pathologically synchronous brain activity due to the disease is desynchronized which also leads to the symptoms being suppressed. The device has a stimulation electrode and at least one sensor which are driven by a control system in such a manner that they produce decoupling and/or desynchronization in their local environment.

Method and device for decoupling and/or desynchronizing neural brain activity

The invention relates to an apparatus for desynchronization of neural illness-synchronous brain activity in which the activities in at least two subareas of a brain area or at least two functionally associated brain areas are stimulated by means of at least two electrodes. In the case of a person with an illness, desynchronization therapy suppresses symptoms in the relevant neuron population. The feedback stimulation signal, that is to say the measured, time-delayed and process neural activity, is used as an individual stimulus. This results in self-regulated, demand control of the amplitude of the stimulation signal, thus minimizing the intensity of the stimulation stimuli automatically after successful desynchronization. The apparatus has at least two stimulation electrodes and at least one sensor, which are driven by a controller such that they result in desynchronization in their local environment.
