A LED driver having a current sensing resistor arrangement with two parallel current sensing branches, each comprising at least two series resistors connected at a respective sensing node, is provided. Radar-based motion detection systems are widely used in smart home, smart building, and smart city area for automatic control. In this invention, methods, subsystem, systems, computer program are disclosed to achieve power reduction of a radar sensor by operating the radar sensor in a sub-sampling manner in an illumination control system. By combining the information related to the detection area and the state of a lighting device, the sampling frequency of a radar sensor is configured according the user scenario. A balance between power reduction and motion detection performance is achieved therefrom.

Power reduction for radar-based motion detection systems and methods

A resonant inverter for a resonant converter, comprising a switch network and a resonant tank circuit. The switch network is controlled by a control circuit, which is responsive to a sampled electrical feedback parameter provided by the resonant tank circuit. The value of the sampled electrical feedback parameter or the time of sampling the electrical feedback parameter is modified in response to a measured time delay between the control circuit indicating a desire to change a switching state of the switch network, and the output of the switch network responding to this desire.

An AC/DC converter and conversion method are provided, in which an AC input is rectified and shaped by a waveform shaping capacitor. A current source circuit is used to provide the output current to the output load which has a parallel bulk capacitor. In various embodiments a device and method for providing power to an LED unit and modulating light emitted from the LED unit is disclosed. In one example, the device is configured to be connected between a driver and the LED unit. In this example, the device comprises a controllable resistor that receives from the driver a driver output voltage and to provides a load current to power the LED unit, a frequency filter for providing a substantially constant voltage to the LED unit, the frequency filter being connected to the controllable resistor to provide a substantially constant electrical power to the LED unit, and a modulator coupled in series to the LED unit for modulating the drive current and for modulating the emitted light output, wherein the substantially constant voltage applied to the LED unit is further applied to the modulator by means of the frequency filter.

A state space feedback controller operates in the digital domain for the regulation of the current supply to MRI gradient coils from a multiple-bridge PWM power amplifier. The P1-controller includes an integration part (for the integration of the difference between the demand current and the measured gradient coil current) and a subsequent P-controlled system which in turn includes a delay compensator/stabilizer and a plant. The delay compensator/stabilizer includes a multi-path feedback loop by means of which its digital output signal is fed back through delay blocks, on the one hand, and through filter units, on the other hand. The filter units model the transfer functions of a gradient coil output filter for the gradient coil voltage and the output current of the amplifier inverter units, respectively. In the plant, a filter unit, which models the gradient coil transfer function, is connected in series to a delay chain for the delay of the measurement value of the gradient coil current.
