An encoder is mounted on the rotatable bearing ring, and a sealing gasket is mounted on the stationary bearing ring. A sleeve for protection of a sensor cable is integrally connected to the sealing gasket and has a groove for housing a sensor means which is connected to the sensor cable. The sleeve has a wall of its extremity which is substantially perpendicular to an external side of the sealing gasket through which the sensor cable exits such that it is tangential to said external side of the sealing gasket.

A sensor element, for sensing an encoder element carried by a rotating ring of the bearing, contacts the insulating film and the conductive tracks. Constitutive material of the seal covers at least a portion of the reinforcement and the insulating film and provides protection for the conductive tracks and sensor element. An encoder ring with multiple North and South poles around its circumference is connected to the rotatable race of a bearing assembly for rotation with the rotatable race. A sensor is connected to the fixed race. The encoder ring is kept in slidable contact with the sensor. The slidable contact is maintained by a flexible member which keeps the encoder ring in slidable contact with the sensor.

The bearing has an encorder as a source of a magnetic field and a sensor for detecting the magnetic field. The bearing has a fixed ring and a rotating ring spaced from the fixed ring. A support is mounted on each ring. The encoder is mounted on one support; the sensor is mounted on the other support. A seal is also mounted on one of the supports. The seal is in sealing contact with the other support.
