A DC voltage network includes at least three energy storage networks, each having an energy store supplying a DC voltage, and at least three power converters implemented as DC voltage converters. The energy store and the power converters are electrically connected at a common point, At least three DC voltage sub-networks are each connected to a respective power converter of the energy storage networks. A feed device connects a respective DC voltage sub-network to an AC voltage network. The DC voltage network may be installed in a vehicle, in particular a ship. In a method of controlling the DC voltage network in the event of a fault, at least one of the power converters is switched off to protect the DC voltage network, depending on the location of the fault.

Highly redundant DC voltage network

A redundant power supply network includes an alternating voltage network and a first incoming-feed power converter with a first dc link and a second incoming-feed power converter with a second dc link. The first and second incoming-feed power converters are each connected on an alternating voltage side with the alternating voltage network. A first power source is connected to the first dc link and a second power source is connected to the second dc link. A mains switch is arranged between the first incoming-feed power converter and the alternating voltage network, and a dc link switch connects the first and second dc links. A connection to a terminal for an external network is arranged between the first incoming-feed power converter and the mains switch.

Redundant power supply network and water vehicle with redundant power supply network as onboard network

A DC voltage network includes a first DC voltage subnetwork, a second DC voltage subnetwork, and an energy storage network. Interconnecting the first DC voltage subnetwork and the energy storage network is a first power converter; and interconnecting the second DC voltage subnetwork and the energy storage network; is a second power converter. An energy storage device is connected to the energy storage network in such a way that the energy storage network has a voltage of the energy storage device and a feed apparatus connects at least one of the first DC voltage subnetwork and the second DC voltage subnetwork to an AC voltage network. A connection converter interconnects the first DC voltage subnetwork and the second DC voltage subnetwork.

Redundant DC voltage network

A diesel electric locomotive includes a main generator for a drive apparatus and an auxiliary generator for auxiliary appliances, connected to a diesel engine. The main generator is connected by a first rectifier to the direct current traction intermediate circuit of the drive apparatus. The auxiliary generator is connected via a second rectifier to a direct current auxiliary operation intermediate circuit of the auxiliary appliances. The main generator is likewise connected via the rectifier and a DC/DC converter to the direct current auxiliary operation intermediate circuit.

Diesel electric locomotive

A diesel-electric locomotive includes an assembly including a diesel engine and a generator, to which a drive unit is connected. The diesel engine is connected to a cooling system holding fluid. The drive unit is electrically connected to a braking resistor. There is provision for the braking resistor to be arranged in the cooling system so as to give off heat to the fluid. For example, the braking resistor is connected to a separate heating voltage source which may be, for example, a voltage source in a second locomotive which is coupled to the locomotive in a traction grouping.

Diesel-electric locomotive

A diesel-electric locomotive includes an assembly including a diesel engine and a generator, a drive unit and a control device, connectable to control devices of other locomotives. Further, a traction grouping includes at least two such diesel-electric locomotives, the locomotives being connected to one another by a control connection. There is provision for a power line to be present with terminals for power lines of other locomotives. In the traction grouping, the locomotives are connected to one another by a power line.
