A method is provided for operating a brake system for a motor vehicle having at least one electric drive and having four wheels. The brake system has a brake device with a hydraulic pressure-generating unit and with a control unit, has a slip control system, and has four brake actuators which are connected in 1-channel configuration to the pressure-generating unit and which are assigned to a respective one of the wheels. In the event of a failure of the slip control system, in order to substitute the failed slip control system, applying a pressure to the four brake actuators by the pressure-generating unit, and driving the rear wheels by the electric drive.

In a method for operating a brake system of a vehicle during autonomous driving of the vehicle, a presence of status information relating to a driving command unit which controls the autonomous driving is checked by a brake control unit of the brake system. The present disclosure relates to a brake fluid device comprising a brake fluid reservoir having a storage space, having a fastening device for fastening to a pressure generator unit of a motor vehicle brake system and/or to a mounting interface in a motor vehicle. The brake fluid interface has an outlet interface for transporting brake fluid into such a pressure generator unit, and having an inlet interface () for brake fluid. The brake fluid device further includes a filling adapter having a filling opening, having a receiving space, and having an outlet interface for brake fluid. A brake fluid line connects the outlet interface of the filling adapter and the inlet interface of the brake fluid reservoir and through which brake fluid is able to flow from the filling adapter into the brake fluid reservoir. An air line extends through the brake fluid line in such a manner that one of its two line ends is located inside the receiving space of the filling adapter and the other line end is located inside the storage space of the brake fluid reservoir.

A force input member for a brake actuating device of a vehicle brake system includes at least one first portion connected to the brake actuating device; at least one second portion connected to a brake pedal; and at least one coupling device. The at least one coupling device couples the first portion and the second portion to one another wherein the at least one coupling device is designed to permit a relative movement between the first portion and the second portion in the case of a force acting on the force input element which is greater than or equal to a predetermined release force.
