An adsorbent assembly is provided for removing gaseous contaminants from an enclosure having an adhesive layer, an adsorbent layer and a filtering layer. An exterior mounted assembly is also provided having an outer layer containing a metal or metallized material that provides an electromagnetic shield to the enclosure.

An electrically powered dehumidifier is provided which has no moving mechanical parts. The dehumidifier employs convection of a deliquescent solution around a fluid circuit having vapor permeable windows. The apparatus is driven by a solid state electronic heat pump, such as a Peltier effect solid-state heat pump, for example.

Apparatus for removing moisture from an environment

A mechanical conveyor system is provided with an exposed flexible membrane surface for use in clean room environments. The conveyor system may be one of varied subassemblies which transfer articles on the conveyor by small orbital motions. The exposed flexible sheath is preferably a membrane which is permeable to air. The system may provide for air flow through the membrane to ensure a clean environment. A preferred flexible membrane is expanded polytetrafluoroethylene.

Apparatus for soil-gas sampling comprising one or more passive vapor collectors enclosed within a liquid water penetration resistant vapor-permeable container to which means for easy in-ground insertion and retrieval is attached. The apparatus provides protection from water, dirt and mechanical damage to the vapor collector(s) during the insertion, sampling and removal steps and permits retrieval of the container from its in-ground location without the efforts and risks associated with excavation.

Soil-gas sampling apparatus

A coated product is provided that is comprised of a substrate and a coating comprised of a microporous scaffold material having a high void volume and open, interconnecting void microstructure, the scaffold material having a layer of a selected polyurethane thereon which extends in the voids. The coated product has good barrier properties with respect to bacteria, viruses, and air-borne particulate.

A device for drawing a small representative sample of air from a laminar flow air stream, such as that flowing through a clean room, is provided, which comprises a gridwork of evenly-spaced tubes having regularly spaced orifices to sample representatively a laminar flow stream of air to determine the number of particles therein. The gridwork of tubes is sized and configured to leave the laminar flow of the air stream substantially undisturbed.

A container for adsorbing components present in an environment, which comprises a tubular structure of expanded, porous polytetrafluoroethylene sealed at both ends, so as to encapsulate an adsorbent present with the tubular structure.
