A hearing aid device is disclosed. The hearing aid device comprises means to improve, augment and/or protect the hearing capability of a user by receiving acoustic signals from the surroundings of the user, generating corresponding audio signals, possibly modifying the audio signals and providing the possibly modified audio signals as audible signals to at least one of the user's ears. The hearing aid device comprises a sensor member for detecting the movement and/or acceleration and/or orientation (or spatial position) of the hearing aid device. The hearing aid device comprises at least two hearing aid microphones and a control unit for determining the position or a deviation from an intended position of the hearing aid device or hearing aid microphones. The hearing aid device is configured to compensate for a possible dislocation of the hearing aid microphones.

The application relates to a hearing assistance device adapted for being located in or at a specific one of a left or a right ear of a user, and comprising an input unit for receiving an input signal and an output unit for providing an output signal. The application further relates to a method and to a hearing assistance system. The application aims at providing an improved scheme for detecting left/right placement of a hearing device. The hearing assistance device further comprises a memory unit wherein information about the intended location of the hearing assistance device is or can be stored, a location identification unit configured to extract an intended location from said memory unit, and a user interface configured to convey information related to the intended and/or current location of the hearing assistance device. A user is thus informed, if the hearing assistance device(s) is/are not located as intended.

The invention regards a hearing aid comprising a receiver and a signal processing device, wherein the signal processing device is electrically coupled to a connection socket operable to detachably connect the receiver to the socket and whereby the signal processing device further comprise a detector operable to detect a characteristics of the receiver which is connected to the signal processing device through the connection socket. The present invention addresses the problem of identification of individual receiver properties as well as of identifying different types of receivers.

The invention regards a listening device with two or more microphone units. The listening device has a signal processing device and means for delivering a signal to the user of the device representative of the audio signals picked up by the microphones, whereby the signal processing device comprises means for adding and scaling the signals from at least two microphone units to provide a single added signal in a manner which allows signal parts from different directions to be equally represented in the resulting added signal.
