The invention relates to an electric machine () having a mounting flange () and to a method for producing an electric machine () of this kind having a mounting flange () of this type. Said mounting flange is arranged on a&#x2014;preferably cylindrical&#x2014;housing part () of said electric machine () in such a way that the mounting flange () at least in portions surrounds the housing part () in the circumferential direction () of said housing part (), the mounting flange () and/or the housing part () being coated. The invention is characterized in that the mounting flange () has an at least radially directed raised portion () abutting the housing part (), the mounting flange () being mounted on the housing part () by a welding process.

A decoupling device for the bearing arrangement of a shaft carried in a housing, in particular a shaft of a belt-driven conical-pulley transmission with a chain that functions as the belt. The decoupling device includes an outer bearing ring configured with a circularly cylindrical outer surface and within which the shaft is mounted, and an inner surface of a housing that encloses the bearing ring outer surface. At least one radial ondular washer is arranged between the bearing ring outer surface and the housing inner surface, which allows a limited relative radial movement between the housing inner surface and the bearing ring outer surface by elastic deformation of the washer.

A bearing assembly including a bearing having an outer bearing ring and an inner bearing ring. The outer bearing ring is axially received in a bearing-receiving recess that includes a substantially cylindrical inner wall. An element that is radially flexible is located between at least one of the outer bearing ring and the inner wall of the recess, and the inner bearing ring and a rotatable member that is rotatably carried in the bearing assembly. The flexible element includes at least one annular element that is undulated in the radial direction, or is provided with projections. Flexible elements can also be disposed against a side surface of the bearing ring for damping axial vibrations.

An adjustable pulley for use in a continuously variable transmission has two coaxial flanges at least one of which is a composite flange having an annular main section with a conical surface adjacent a reinforcing liner of wear resistant material. The liner is secured to the main section of the composite flange by a one-piece or composite disc-shaped insert one side of which has several portions affixed (such as bonded and/or riveted) to the adjacent side of the liner, and the other side of which has several portions affixed to the conical surface and/or another part of the main section. Those portions of the one side of the insert which are affixed to the liner are out of register with those portions of the other side of the insert which are affixed to the main section to thus enable the liner to move relative to the conical surface in one or more directions other than circumferentially of the main section.
